Safety recommendation
The National Transportation Safety Board has directed aviation training providers to align pilot training definitions with federal regulations.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has issued recommendation A-16-046, identified under reference number CEN16MA036. This directive is addressed to Simcom Aviation Training and Flight Safety International. The NTSB urges these organizations to collaborate with the Federal Aviation Administration and Textron Aviation. The goal of this collaboration is to develop a specific definition for the term landing assured. This definition must be incorporated into the pilot training programs for Hawker 700-and 800-series aircraft. The new definition must align precisely with the language established in 14 Code of Federal Regulations 91.175(c)(1). This action aims to ensure standardization and clarity in pilot training protocols for these specific aircraft models.
