The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has issued Recommendation A-17-020, identified by NTSB number DCA15SR001. This directive is addressed to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The recommendation instructs the FAA to work in collaboration with the National Air Traffic Controllers Association. The goal of this partnership is to develop and distribute best practices guidance. This guidance is intended for all air traffic control facilities. It specifically addresses the procedures for the solicitation and dissemination of pilot weather reports.
