The National Transportation Safety Board, identified by reference number DCA15SR001, has issued Recommendation A-17-026 to the Federal Aviation Administration. This directive calls on the agency to provide a reliable means of electronically accepting pilot weather reports directly from all users who are eligible to submit such data. Furthermore, the NTSB requires that the system have the capacity to accept and make available all such reports to the National Airspace System. This recommendation aims to improve the flow of critical meteorological information within the aviation network.
