NTSB Urges Immediate FAA Action on Harrington Industries Repairs

The National Transportation Safety Board, identified by reference number DCA94MA053, has released Safety Recommendation A-94-112. This urgent directive supersedes previous guidance labeled A-92-065. The board recommends that the Federal Aviation Administration take immediate action to identify airplanes that have been repaired, refurbished, or repainted by Harrington Industries. The FAA is urged to inspect these aircraft's safety belts and seat assemblies to ensure proper installation and the use of approved hardware. Additionally, inspectors must check flight control surfaces to confirm balance remains within tolerance limitations. Any other airworthiness conditions should be inspected if indicated during the evaluation described in recommendation A-94-111.
