The National Transportation Safety Board has issued a safety recommendation, designated A-94-114, which supersedes previous guidance labeled A-92-065. This directive calls upon the Federal Aviation Administration to issue an air carrier operations bulletin. The bulletin would instruct principal operations inspectors to advise air carriers to reemphasize in pilot training materials the necessity for adhering to the maximum descent rate of one thousand feet per minute after passing the final approach fix. This requirement applies regardless of the existence of icing conditions, ensuring consistent operational standards during critical phases of flight.
