ALT DEV ALT EXCURSION BY ACR MLG AFTER TCASII RA.
APCHING REFIL INTXN ON THE SCURRY 1 ARR AT THE DALLAS FT WORTH INTL ARPT; TCASII GAVE US A TA WHILE MY COPLT WAS FLYING. I LOOKED AT THE TCASII DISPLAY AND NOTICED AN INTRUDER AT 11 O'CLOCK AND -1400 BELOW US. WITHIN A FEW SECONDS TCASII GAVE US AN RA AND A CLB; CLB; CLB; COMMAND. MY FO THEN STARTED A CLB OUT OF 11000 FT ASSIGNED ALT. I CALLED APCH CTL AND TOLD THEM OF OUR ACTION. THE CTLR THEN TOLD US THAT OUR TFC WAS LEVELING AT 10000 FT. ALSO; THE VERT SPD INDICATOR GAVE US A CLB COMMAND. AFTER THE CTLR TALKED TO US; TCASII GAVE US A 'CLR OF CONFLICT' AND I TOLD THE CTLR THAT WE WERE TURNING TO 11000 FT. OUR HIGHEST ALT IN THIS MANEUVER WAS 11500 FT. WHILE FLYING INTO DFW QUITE OFTEN; I KNOW THAT DEPS ARE HELD AT 10000 FT WHILE ARRS ARE AT 11000 FT. EVEN THOUGH OUR INTRUDER WAS -1400 BELOW US BUT CLBING RAPIDLY TO 10000 FT; TCASII ISSUED AN RA COMMAND AND WE FOLLOWED IT. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 186786: NOTE -- THE TCASII RA WAS RIGHT. DFW PROCS ARE POOR. DEPS CLB RAPIDLY TO 10000 WHILE ARRS REMAIN AT 11000. WITH ONLY 1000 FT OF SEPARATION; A FAST CLBING ACFT THAT MISSED ITS LEVEL OFF; WOULD BREACH THAT SMALL SEPARATION IN JUST A FEW SECONDS AT LEAST 2000 FT OF SEPARATION SHOULD BE PROVIDED IN THIS HIGH DENSITY AREA WITH FAST CLBING ACFT.
