Flight Crew reported a loud bang after gear handle was selected up after take off. Subsequently; they had an LG LEVER DISAG warning on the EICAS with an indication that the nose wheel was not up and locked. Following that; they had an LG WOW SYS FAIL and LG NOSE DOOR OPEN caution indication. The flight crew performed an air turn back and precautionary landing at departure airport.
I was the Pilot Flying on this flight. We took off from [Runway] XXR at intersection W in ZZZ airport. After I called for gear up; the Captain raised the landing gear; and we both heard a loud bang on the cockpit; coming from the nose landing gear. Subsequently; we had an LG LEVER DISAG warning on the EICAS with an indication that the nose wheel was not up and locked. Following that; we advised ATC and ran the QRH. A few seconds later; we had an LG WOW SYS FAIL and LG NOSE DOOR OPEN caution indication. We followed the QRH procedures; [requested priority handling]; and decided to return to the field and to make a low approach to verify that our landing gear was down and locked properly.Once the low approach was completed; we got a confirmation from ATC that the landing gear appeared to be down and locked; we landed on [Runway] XXR at ZZZ.On the second ILS approach; the automation did not capture the glide slope on time. Consequently; we were high to capture the glide slope leading to a steeper descent. I hand flew the approach after that to correct it and we were able to be configured by 1;000 ft. and stable by 500 ft.
Departure out of ZZZ [Runway] XXR. After retracting the landing gear we heard a loud noise. A few moments later we got a landing gear lever disagree warning message then a LG WOW system fail caution message. Told ATC we needed to stop climb and look at a maintenance issue. Ran the appropriate QRH for each message and then [requested priority handling] with ATC. We decided to return to ZZZ with a low approach first to obtain a status report on our gear situation. Once we were told everything appeared normal we decided to land on the next approach. Obviously we ran the QRH and everyone was alerted of the situation. After completing all briefings and appropriate checklists we landed without further incident and taxied to the gate. CFR was standing bye to make sure everything was ok once we landed on the runway. Maintenance was notified after parking at the gate. Passengers were deplaned.Possibly having more maintenance checks on the landing gear system.
