RPTR PROTESTS RTING INTO BNA AND REQUIRED HDG CHANGES BY RADAR CTLRS.
RTING FILED AND CLRED BY STL DIRECT EWL; ENL 139/50; DIRECT BNA. REQUESTED FL250 DUE TO TURB RPTED AT HIGHER ALTS. MEMPHIS CENTER HAS TO RECLR EACH OF THESE FLT SEGMENTS AT SOME POINT AFTER THE ENL 139/50 SO AN EASTERLY HDG TO INTERCEPT THE HEHAW 2 ARR INTO BNA (BNA 335 DEG RADIAL) AND ISSUE A DSCNT CLRNC TO CROSS HEHAW (BNA 335/40) AT 11000 AND 250 KIAS. THE POINT (GEOGRAPHIC) OF CLRNC AMENDMENT AND HDGS TO INTERCEPT VARY FROM DAY TO DAY ON THIS FLT. WE HAD NOT BEEN TURNED TO THE E OR GIVEN A LOWER ALT -- AT 65 DME; AND I REQUESTED LOWER. AT APPROX 60 DME WE WERE CLRED TO FL240; TURNED E AND GIVEN A FREQ CHANGE. THE LOW SECTOR TURNED US NE AND DSNDED US TO 11000 AND THEN CONTINUED OUR TURN TO THE L (270 DEG TURN) TO CROSS THE APCH GATE AT 11000 WITHOUT CAUSING UNDUE DISCOMFORT TO OUR PAX. NO XING RESTRICTIONS (DME OR SPD) WERE GIVEN AND NO ATC COMMENTS MADE. WE DID CROSS HEHAW AT 11000 AND 250 KIAS. NORMAL LNDG. FACTORS: THE REQUIREMENT FOR A CTLR TO MANUALLY RERTE THIS SEGMENT EACH DAY INTO A BUSY HUB IS DISTRACTING AND OFTEN OVERLOOKED DUE TO HIGH SECTOR WORKLOADS. A NW TRANSITION SHOULD BE ADDED TO THE HEHAW 2 ARR AT BNA!
