ERJ 175 flight crew reported a bent fan blade was not addressed nor documented properly at an out station. The aircraft was removed from service for maintenance actions after arrival at destination airport.
XA:33L report time to a cold and dark aircraft. As the Captain went onboard to start up the aircraft; I stepped out to do the preflight walk around. With it being so early; walk around was done in the dark with a flashlight. No defects were found on walk around. After returning to the aircraft; Multipurpose Control Display Unit (MCDU) 2 was blank and the Captain and I ran 2 GRGs (Ground Reset Guide). After the successful GRGs; Captain notified me over a write up from the previous night of a bent fan blade of engine number 2 and that it had been signed off by contract maintenance in ZZZ. Pushed off the gate and flew to ZZZ1 with no issues. After returning home from the trip; Captain notified me that the Captain who took the aircraft from ZZZ1 texted him letting him know that he talked to the previous crew who wrote up the fan blade in ZZZ and received the aircraft in ZZZ said contract maintenance did not correct or address the issue and the fan blade was out of tolerance and still bent.
XA:33am report to a cold and dark airplane. Reviewed aircraft logbook and noted the write up about bent fan blade engine number two and it was signed off by contract MX in ZZZ. Informed First Officer (FO) about write up. Turned on aircraft via APU and had to do two GRGs after APU was on. Called MX to inform them of GRGs successful. FO gets done with preflight and says airplane looks good. We then proceed to run briefs and checklist with no issues. Push off gate and fly to ZZZ1 with no issues. After returning home; the Captain who took aircraft in ZZZ1 texted me letting me know that the he talked to the previous crew who wrote the fan blade up in ZZZ and received aircraft in ZZZ said contract MX did not correct or address the issue and the fan blade was out of tolerance and still bent. We discussed it via text and then I let my FO about the situation. Looking back; I could have physically gone out and checked the fan blade myself instead of relying on contract MX sign off in the logbook.
