FLC OF MLG ON VECTORED APCH TO ILS AT CMH HAD LOW ALT WARNING FROM APCH CTLR.
AT TOP OF DSCNT THE APCH FOR LNDG AT CMH ILS 10R WAS BRIEFED PER COMPANY OPS MANUAL. ALTS FOR THE APCH (INCLUDING OM XING ALT) WERE COVERED. WHILE BEING VECTORED DOWNWIND A STRONG (APPROX 40 KT) HEADWIND WAS NOTED. THE GND WINDS WERE RPTED FROM 160 DEGS. APPROX 10 KTS WE WERE DSNDED TO 3000 AND TURNED FOR A BASE LEG. PRIOR TO REACHING 3000 FT WE WERE VECTORED TO FINAL AND CLRED FOR THE APCH. AT THIS POINT WE WERE CLRED TO DSND TO 2700. THE PNF UNDERSTOOD; READ BACK; AND RESET ALT ALERTER TO 2000 FT. THE DIGITAL FLT GUIDANCE IN THE MLG WAS HAVING TROUBLE KEEPING UP WITH THE MANEUVERING DUE TO THE WINDS. WHEN THE ACFT DID NOT LEVEL AT 3000 FT AS I HAD EXPECTED. I QUESTIONED THE FO WHO STATED WE WERE RECLRED TO 2000. DUE TO THE HIGH WORKLOAD AT THE TIME I WAS UNABLE TO QUESTION THE ALT BEFORE WE TRIGGERED THE LOW ALT ALERT. THE MLG HAS NUMEROUS (LOUD) AURAL VOICE WARNINGS THAT FREQUENTLY COVER ATC TRANSMISSIONS. I IMMEDIATELY CLBED MANUALLY AND CAPTURED/FLEW THE ILS APCH. I CALLED AND DISCUSSED THE MATTER WITH THE APCH CTLR/SUPVR. HE FELT THEY SHOULD NOT BE CLRING ACFT FROM 3000 FT TO 2700 FT SINCE IT CAUSES PROBLEMS.
