SMA PRACTICING TOUCH AND GOES; RETURNS HOME BASE LANDS GEAR UP.
DEPARTED LOU AND FLEW DIRECT NAAB; SHOT A PRACTICE VOR/DME APCH VFR TO IMS RWY 3. UPON ARRIVING IMS I PROCEEDED TO EXECUTE 9 PERFECT LNDGS (FULL STOP) USING ALL THE PRESCRIBED TECHNIQUES; WHEELS UP; WHEELS DOWN; GUMP CHK; ETC. RETURNING TO NAAB AND DEPARTED ON THE 248 DEG RADIAL. AT APPROX 12 NM FROM AAB I CALLED JVY UNICOM FOR TA AND ACTIVE RWY; THEY REPLIED 3 IN THE PATTERN TOUCH AND GOES; WINDS 035/5 ACTIVE RWY 36. I PROCEEDED TOWARD IIU APPROX 150 DEGS; KNOWING THIS WOULD PUT ME R OF L DOWNWIND JVY RWY 36. AFTER TURNING 150 DEGS I SLOWED THE PLANE (12/25) THE GEAR HORN SOUNDED; I ADDED 10 DEGS FLAPS AND RETURNED PWR TO (18/25) APPROX 100 KTS; GEAR HORN STOPPED; AIRSPD SLOWED TO 90 KTS; ARRIVING AT JVY I ANNOUNCED MY PRESENCE TO THE PATTERN TFC AND PROCEEDED TO LOOK FOR TFC; I FOUND 1 PLANE; SHORT FINAL; A SECOND WAS UPWIND 36; THE THIRD WAS NOWHERE IN SIGHT. WHILE LOOKING FOR #3 I TURNED BASE AND FINAL; ADDED 30 DEGS OF FLAPS AND TRIMMED FOR DSCNT; IF THE GEAR HORN WENT OFF I DIDN'T HEAR IT. WAS I PREOCCUPIED WITH TFC? DID THE PRECEDING REPETITIOUS LNDGS LEAD ME TO THINK THE WHEELS WERE DOWN? WHEELS UP LNDG JVY RWY 36. CORRECTIVE ACTION; ADD ONE MORE STEP TO LNDG CHKLIST I.E. PUT HAND ON GEAR LEVER WHILE ON SHORT FINAL.
