READING APCH WAS BUSY ON THIS DAY. I WAS MONITORING APCH FREQ AND AT 15 DME SE I CALLED THEM WITH MY LOCATION; ALT AND INTENTIONS. THEY ASKED ME TO CALL BACK AT 10 DME. UPON CALLING BACK AT 10 DME I WAS GIVEN A SQUAWK CODE AND ASKED TO IDENT. AFTER MY CALL ANOTHER ACFT CALLED AT 10 DME E APPROX 2 MI TO MY R WING. LEVEL WITH ME. APCH ALSO GAVE THIS ACFT A SQUAWK AND THEN VECTORED THIS ACFT TOWARDS MY POS. THEY ASKED HIM TO DSND TO 2200 MSL. I WAS AT 2800 MSL. THEY CALLED TFC TO HIM (ME) BUT NEVER INFORMED ME. HE INFORMED APCH THAT TFC WAS IN SIGHT. I CLBED TO 3200 MSL TO AVOID BEING CLOSER TO HIM AS HE PASSED DIRECTLY UNDER MY ACFT. RDG APCH NEVER CALLED THIS TFC TO ME. I DID SEE HIM FROM THE TIME HE FIRST CALLED HIS POS TO APCH. AT THIS POINT I WAS NOW 6 DME TO RDG ARPT. APCH HANDED ME OFF TO TWR. BEFORE LEAVING APCH FREQ I INFORMED APCH OF MY DISSATISFACTION WITH THEIR HANDLING OF ME. UPON LNDG APCH CTLR CALLED ME TO APOLOGIZE. I AM FAMILIAR WITH THIS ARPT AND FEEL THAT THEY SHOULD HAVE RTED TFC TO FLOW BETTER INTO THE ARPT I FEEL THAT ONE OF US SHOULD HAVE BEEN VECTORED IN A WAY TO ALLOW FOR MORE SEPARATION THAN WHAT TOOK PLACE. HAD I NOT BEEN PAYING ATTN AND THE OTHER PLT NOT FULLY AWARE OF WHAT HE WAS DOING THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A CATASTROPHIC EXPERIENCE!
