ERRONEOUS NOTAM LEADS RPTR TO BELIEVE THAT HE SHOT AN ILLEGAL CATIII APCH.
AN APCH TO ONT WAS MADE WITH WX MIN OF 200 1/2 RVR 26L 800 FT. A SUCCESSFUL CATIII APCH WAS MADE AND LNDG COMPLETED. ON THE OUTBOUND FLT OUT OF ONT I NOTICED A NOTAM IN OUR WX RPT INDICATING A CATII APCH WAS NA. I THEN LOOKED AT THE INBOUND WX RPT AND SAW THE SAME NOTE. ALL THREE CREW MEMBERS MISSED THIS NOTAM ON THE OUTBOUND FLT FROM MEM TO ONT. A RPT OF POSSIBLE VIOLATION WAS MADE TO THE COMPANY DUTY OFFICER UPON RETURN TO MEMPHIS. ALL CREW MEMBERS HAD BEEN UP ALL NIGHT AND MOST OF PREVIOUS DAY FLYING TIPS GOING THROUGH MEMPHIS AND THEN ONTO CA. FATIGUE FROM FLYING ALL NIGHT REDUCED ABILITY TO THINK CLRLY RESULTING IN LOSS OF CONCENTRATION IN STUDYING WX RPTS. FDC NOTAM INDICATING 26L CATII NA WAS HIDDEN IN WITH A LOT OF OTHER INFO WHILE AT THE SAME TIME A STATEMENT THAT ONT HAD NO NOTAMS WAS LISTED ELSEWHERE. ATIS AT ONT PROVIDED NO INFO ON STATUS OF 26L NOR DID ATC. ATC KNEW I WAS GOING TO SHOOT A CATII APCH. ATIS ATC SHOULD PROVIDE ADVICE ON STATUS OF RWYS IN USE. NOTAM INFO SHOULD BE BETTER FORMATTED AND EASIER TO READ. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR SAID THERE WERE 2 ERRORS INVOLVED HERE. FIRST; THE LINE THAT SAID 'ONT NO NOTAMS' SEEMED TO BE IN ERROR AND IT WOULD LEAD A PERSON TO LOOK NO FURTHER FOR ONT NOTAMS. HOWEVER; THE NOTAM SAYING CATII NA AT ONT HAD EXPIRED AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN REMOVED. THEREFORE; THE FIRST NOTAM WAS ACTUALLY CORRECT. HIS LT MGR SAID HAT THE BUGS HAVE BEEN ADDRESSED AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN WORKED OUT AND THIS SHOULD NOT RECUR. THE WX AND NOTAMS IN THE GRAPHICS ARE PRODUCED BY THE ACR AND NOT BY NOAA.
