Synopsis

ACR LTT HAD A COMPLETE HYD FAILURE. IT RETURNED AND LANDED WITH NO INJURIES OR DAMAGE. THE LTT NOSE WHEEL CAME TO REST IN THE GRASS WELL AFTER THE LNDG INCIDENT.

Narrative

AFTER TKOF; WE RECEIVED A 'CWP' WARNING LIGHT OF 'HYD' AFTER GEAR RETRACTION. WE THEN PROCEEDED IN CHKING THE HYD PANEL AND NOTICED THE HYD QUANTITY AND PRESSURE OF MAIN SYS TO BE LOW. IMMEDIATELY WE TURNED THE HYD PUMP OFF AND PUT GEAR HANDLE DOWN; FOLLOWED BY THE AFTER TKOF CHKS. DECLARED AN EMER AND FOLLOWED THE ABNORMAL HYD FLUID LOSS CHKLIST WHICH LED TO HAVING THE GEAR DOWN WITH 3 GREEN LIGHTS. A SAFE NORMAL LNDG WAS MADE. THE ACFT THEN CAME TO A FULL STOP WITH BRAKES AND STEERING FUNCTIONING OFF A TAXIWAY. BUT FOR GND CONTACT PURPOSES; WE WERE ASKED IF WE COULD MOVE UP CLR OF A TAXIWAY. WE COMPLIED WITH THE REQUEST AND MOVED FURTHER FORWARD 10-20 FT AND STOPPED ONCE AGAIN. I THEN PROCEEDED WITH THE AFTER LNDG CHKS. SHORTLY; THEREAFTER; THE NOSE WHEEL STARTED DRIFTING OFF AND INTO THE GRASS BEFORE IT CAME TO A FULL STOP. THEREAFTER; ENGS WERE SHUT DOWN; ATC WAS NOTIFIED AND PAXS AND COMPANY WERE ALSO NOTIFIED. CONTRIBUTING FACTOR OF HYD LOSS WAS A BREAK OR A DISCONNECT OF A SWIVEL CONNECTION ON THE R MAIN GEAR.
