SMA ON LOC BACK COURSE APCH AT NIGHT INSTRUCTED TO HOLD SHORT OF INTERSECTING RWY AFTER LNDG AND DURING ROLLOUT. UNABLE.
THE INCIDENT OCCURRED DURING THE LNDG PHASE FOR A PRACTICE LOC BACK COURSE APCH TO RWY 06 AT PNE. LNDG WAS TO BE A FULL STOP SO WE COULD CHANGE PLTS AND DO A FEW MORE PRACTICE APCHS. THE APCH WENT FINE; AND SHORTLY AFTER REACHING THE MDA; I REMOVED MY VIEW LIMITING DEVICE TO COMMENCE A NORMAL LNDG. WE LANDED LONG; PROBABLY AT LEAST 1500 FT FROM THE THRESHOLD. SHORTLY AFTER THE WHEELS TOUCHED DOWN; THE TWR ISSUED AN INSTRUCTION TO HOLD SHORT OF INTERSECTING RWY 15 FOR LNDG TFC. BOTH MYSELF AND MY SAFETY PLT IMMEDIATELY BEGAN TO LOOK FOR THE CROSS RWY AS I ACKNOWLEDGED THE TWR REQUEST. WITHIN A FEW SHORT SECONDS; WE HAD ALREADY CROSSED THE INTERSECTING RWY AS THE TWR ANNOUNCED FOR A SECOND TIME FOR US TO HOLD SHORT OF RWY 15. BY THEN; IT WAS TOO LATE AS WE REALIZED WE HAD JUST GONE BY THE RWY 15 INTXN. LIKEWISE; THE TWR HAD ALREADY INSTRUCTED THE OTHER ACFT TO DO A GAR. I FEEL THAT WE WERE NOT GIVEN ADEQUATE TIME TO PLAN TO STOP OUR ACFT BY THE REQUESTED INTXN. THIS INSTRUCTION SHOULD HAVE BEEN ISSUED AT LEAST WHILE ON SHORT FINAL; NOT WHEN WE ARE ALREADY A GOOD WAY DOWN THE RWY WITH WHEELS DOWN! THE FACT THAT IT WAS NIGHT ALSO MADE IT MORE DIFFICULT TO SPOT THE CROSS RWY AMONGST THE MANY LIGHTS PRESENT AT A LARGE ARPT OF THIS TYPE. THE ARPT WAS NOT THAT BUSY; AND CERTAINLY A BIT MORE SPACING BTWN ARRIVING ACFT COULD ALSO HAVE PREVENTED THIS FROM OCCURRING.
