WDB FLC ON THEIR FIRST FLT SINCE BOTH THE FO AND THE CAPT WERE ON EXTENDED LEAVES FAILS TO MAKE XING RESTRICTION ON SID OUT OF SFO DUE TO NOT SEEING THE XING RESTRICTION ON THE CHART WHEN THEY BRIEFED FOR DEP.
DEPARTED SFO ON A SFO5 DEP FROM RWY 1R. WE FAILED TO MAKE A 6 DME XING AT OR ABOVE 3000 FT. XING WAS AT 2500 FT (+). I BRIEFED THE DEP PRIOR TO TKOF TO MY COPLT BUT BOTH OF US MISSED THE 6 DME RESTRICTION IN THE ACTUAL OP. CONTRIBUTING TO THE PROBLEM OTHER THAN NOT SEEING OR REMEMBERING THE FINE PRINT IS THE FACT THAT I HAVE NOT FLOWN OUT OF SFO EBOUND FOR APPROX 8-9 MONTHS. I HAVE BEEN BASED IN HNL FOR THAT PERIOD OF TIME AND THE DEPS FROM SFO WERE ALL WBOUND WITH NO XING RESTRICTION. ALSO CONTRIBUTING BUT IS NO EXCUSE IS THE FACT THAT THIS WAS MY FIRST TRIP BACK AFTER 4 WKS OF VACATION AND MY COPLT HAD BEEN OUT FOR 6 WKS OF SICK LEAVE. BOTH OF US WERE BUSY RE-ACQUAINTING OURSELVES WITH THE ACFT. BUT NONE OF THE ABOVE IS AN EXCUSE FOR MISSING A XING RESTRICTION OR NOT NOTIFYING ATC OF THE PROBLEM. WHAT TURNS OUT TO BE A PROBLEM IS THE FACT THAT I FLEW A STANDARD TKOF PROFILE AND WAS CLBING AT 230 KTS WITH AN ATC SPD RESTRICTION OF NOT TO EXCEED 250 KTS UNTIL ADVISED. WITH AN ACR STANDARD CLB PROFILE I ENDED UP APPROX 500 FT LOW ON THE XING. I WOULD SUGGEST THAT 6 DME AT 3000 FT IS A BIT UNREALISTIC FOR A HVY TO MAKE WITHOUT AN ABNORMAL CLB PROFILE. OUR TKOF/CLB PROFILE INCLUDES A REDUCED PWR TKOF IF POSSIBLE FOR ENG LONGEVITY AND A QUIET CLB FLAP RETRACTION FOR NEIGHBORHOOD PEACE OF QUIET.
