Air carrier Check Pilot reported experiencing GPS jamming and spoofing that led to GPS failure; with the Left GPS remaining inoperative for the rest of the flight.
GPS spoofing jamming experienced on arrival and subsequent departure from OJAQ. Inbound in the Cairo and Amman FIR; jamming was encountered; causing failure of both left and right GPS as noted on several Control Display Panel pages. EICAS messages of 'ATC fault;' and 'terrain position' were indicated. Navigation transitioned to DME-DME. ATC was notified and landing was uneventful. After departing OJAQ; jamming and spoofing was once again detected. This time more severe. ANP values rapidly exceeded RNP. Map shift occurred on both navigation displays as well as all four pilot EFBs. All pilot EFBs; as well as both NDs (Navigation Display) indicated aircraft near stationary position over CVO VOR. ATC was again notified and radar vectors requested and complied with. Communication with ATC and from other aircraft on ATC frequency indicated widespread jamming. Autopilot; aircraft UTC time; and clock functions all appeared normal. At approximately XA:26; NDs and pilot's EFBs began to approximate actual position information. RNP/ANP values became within limits; and DME-DME navigation displayed on both NDs. This was confirmed with ATC using manual VOR tuning; and EFB position information; GPS. First confirmed position was 40 DME southeast of CVO VOR; estimating the end of jamming/spoofing. Not until in Athens FIR; and well away from Cairo FIR; GPS was re-selected. GPS Left remained INOP; with GPS Right functional. Remainder of flight was uneventful. This airport requires an LCP (Line Check Pilot) crew member per company policy. I would highly encourage to also include as company policy to prohibit training; OE (Operating Experience); and require a fully qualified crew including LCP for this flight; as is company policy for other designated destinations.
