Synopsis

PIC OF ACR MLG RPTED BY ARTCC RADAR CTLR AS HAVING CREATED A HDG TRACK POS DEV DURING RADAR VECTORING TURN IN DEP PROC.

Narrative

FO WAS FLYING FROM BWI TO ORD; AFTER TKOF AND CLB WE CONTACTED ZDC. WE WERE INSTRUCTED TO TURN TO 210 DEGS HDG AND LATER TOLD TO TURN TO 180 DEGS AND INCREASE OUR RATE OF TURN. DURING THE TURN TO 180 DEGS; I NOTICED A TCASII TARGET AT 10:30 WITH NO ALT INFO. I ASKED THE CTLR IF HE SHOWED ANY TFC AT THAT POS; HE REPLIED THE ONLY TFC FOR US WAS AT 12:30 AND NO FACTOR. I RESPONDED THAT THE TARGET HAD NO ALT INFO AND WAS PROBABLY A LIGHT ACFT DOWN LOW. A FEW MOMENTS LATER WERE CLRED DIRECT TO ARMEL; ON COURSE. THE FLT LANDED AT ORD ROUTINELY. 2-3 DAYS LATER MY CHIEF PLT CALLED ME AT HOME AND SAID ZDC HAD ADVISED HIM THAT OUR FLT HAD L A 'DEP CORRIDOR' DEPARTING BWI AS A RESULT OF A TCASII RA. I TOLD THE CHIEF PLT ABOUT OUR ROUTINE FLT AND SAID THE CTLR WAS INCORRECT. THE CTLR SHOULD HAVE TOLD US DURING THE VECTOR TO INCREASE OUR TURN OR WHAT THE VECTOR WAS FOR. I SUSPECT OUR STANDARD RATE TURN WAS NOT ENOUGH TO POS THE ACFT WHERE THE CTLR WANTED US. WHY THE CTLR TOLD OUR CHIEF PLT WE DEVIATED FOR A TCASII RA; WHEN IN FACT WE DID NOT; I DON'T KNOW. THAT IS WHY I AM SUBMITTING THIS RPT.
