Air carrier flight crew reported hydraulic system failure during go-around.

Narrative

Flight XXXX from ZZZ1- ZZZ. I was Pilot flying and was being vectored for the RNAV/LNAV GPS XX into ZZZ. The Approach Controller gave us a vector on to the final approach path; however there was not adequate spacing to make the turn to final and have the GPS system intercept the course. The plane overflew the final approach course when trying to intercept it; resulting in us not being aligned with the runway after the FAF. The Captain called the go-around; and I initiated the maneuver by selecting TOGA; adding thrust; and pitching the aircraft into the flight director. After calling 'gear up' when a positive rate of climb was assured; we initially received a Gear Disagree EICAS Caution; followed by a HYD3 LOW PRESS caution; and inboard spoiler caution message. We then [requested priority handling]; continued climbing to 5;000 feet; and requested a hold to run a QRH procedure and setup for another approach. We additionally noted the gear were still secured in the down position. The Captain ran all 3 QRH procedures; briefed the flight attendants of the situation; and informed Dispatch of what was going on. Once the checklists were completed; we briefed the procedures for landing without automatic ground lift dumping; and noted that we would have little to no directional control once on the ground without Hydraulic system 3. We then requested vectors for another attempt of the RNAV XX. We informed the Approach Controller to have Airport Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) ready case of any subsequent [problems] upon landing. The approach and normal landing were performed without incident however; I was without directional control on rollout. Manual control of the flight spoilers was used to help slow the airplane to a stop after landing. The emergency personnel inspected the aircraft and found no additional hazards and we waited on the runway with our engines off until we were able to be towed back to the gate. While being towed; the first tug overheated and required a second tug to pull us back to the gate. During the post-fight inspection; we noticed that hydraulic system three was almost completely empty of hydraulic fluid.Cause: We suspect that hydraulic system 3 may have developed a leak during the go-around.

Second reporter narrative

On flight XXXX ZZZ1 to ZZZ. The flight had been normal. We had been cleared to land on Runway XX. And we were intercepting the course just outside the FAF when the FMS stopped turning towards the course and we were at a 45-30 heading off the runway. I didn't think the approach could be salvaged from that point and called for a go around. During the go-around process we got a gear disagree warning message and a hydraulic 3 low pressure message and an inboard spoiler caution message. Other messages appeared and disappeared but I could not register what they were. Those three remained. We climbed to 5;000 because the Autopilot didn't capture at 3;000 like we initially put in. Once we got the aircraft to level and away from the ground and things slowed down a bit I gave the First Officer (FO) the radios and aircraft controls. I asked the FO to [request priority handling] and to have fire rescue meet us upon landing. I began to run the QRH checklists for the gear disagree and HYD 3 Lo press and inboard spoilers alert. After running all three I was satisfied we could make a safe landing and we got vectors back to do the approach again. The hydraulic psi was around 2;500 PSI and the QRH was pretty simple given that we had some hydraulic pressure remaining. We did not have to manually lower the gear. We did plan for longer actual landing distances per the QRH for the inboard spoilers. waited to contact Dispatch until we were on the ground because we were flying with the gear down and not going to divert. I briefed the Flight Attendant (FA) for a [priority] landing and to remain on the aircraft and that I expected a normal landing. I also made a PA to the passengers but a FA told me they didn't hear it I still wanted fire rescue to be there just in case and we asked for a tug to meet us on the run way because the nose wheel steering was going to be inop. We continued the approach and made a normal landing. Fire rescue met us and checked the aircraft a tug eventually arrived and about half way back it broke down. A second tug got us to the gate and the passengers deplaned. Hydraulic three was 95% empty by the time we got back to the gate.Cause: The hydraulic system 3 drained during the go-around gear retraction which caused the gear disagree and inboard spoiler problems.
