Synopsis

DOOR WARNING LIGHT ON FLT CREATES A TEMPORARY PLAN OF RETURN LAND ACCOUNT ACFT EQUIP PROBLEM.

Narrative

CLBING THROUGH 29000 FT THE 'DOORS' LIGHT ON THE MASTER WARNING PANEL CAME ON AND NO LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE SO'S PANEL. THE FLT DUTIES WERE TURNED OVER TO THE FO AND I PROCEEDED TO WORK WITH THE SO ON THE ABNORMAL CHKLIST. THE ABNORMAL CHKLIST FOR A DOOR WARNING LIGHT AND NO OTHER LIGHTS ON CALLS FOR A DSCNT TO 10000 FT AND REDUCING CABIN DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE TO A MIN. ALSO A PRECAUTIONARY LNDG MUST BE MADE. AT THIS POINT CLRNC WAS REQUESTED FOR A DSCNT AND RETURN TO DENVER. AFTER A DSCNT WAS UNDERWAY; I MADE AN ANNOUNCEMENT INFORMING THE FLT ATTENDANTS AND PAXS WE WERE RETURNING TO DENVER. I THEN INSTRUCTED THE FLT SVC MGR TO CHK ALL CABIN DOORS. THE CTL HANDLE ON DOOR '1R' CLICKED WHEN PUSHED DOWN AND THE DOOR LIGHT ON THE MASTER WARNING PANEL WENT OUT. THE PRESSURIZATION BEHAVED NORMAL AT ALL TIMES. I DECIDED TO CONTINUE THE FLT TO CLEVELAND. UPON LNDG THE WRITE UP WAS ENTERED IN THE MAINT LOGBOOK. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 217643. I NOTIFIED DENVER OPS THAT WE WERE GOING TO CLEVELAND. I ALSO NOTIFIED DENVER MAINT OF HOW THE DOOR WARNING LIGHT PROBLEM HAD BEEN CORRECTED; THEY APPROVED OF OUR ACTIONS AND SAID THEY WOULD TELL IAH MAINT WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND THAT THE CAPT HAD DECIDED TO GO TO CLEVELAND.
