Synopsis

Air carrier flight crew reported shutting down one engine due to loss of oil pressure. Flight crew diverted to nearby airport.

Narrative

Single engine landing. Delayed due to Mx (Maintenance) repair on engine-driven hydraulic pump. I was the PF for the leg. On climb out; captain spotted the oil quantity showing 0" flashing in green and oil pressure nearing at its lower limit in the green arc so we leveled off at FL260. After discussing with Mx; captain promptly made a decision to divert to ZZZ. ATC gave us HDG 240 then 200 and ALT FL200 and 10;000 pilot discretion. Then; ATC gave us direct ZZZZZ for ZZZZZ arrival and as we were descending; oil pressure slowly decreased with intermittently showing green and yellow. Prior to reaching ZZZZZ; a message for OIL QUANTITY LOW showed and directed to go THRUST LEVER #1 IDLE and it disappeared after we did as instructed. Near ZZZZZ; a message appeared again with an amber LAND ASAP and we shut down ENGINE #1 as a part of the message actions as we were getting vectors for the ILS approach on runway XXL. We landed with a single engine under max landing weight and no further issues were encountered."

Second reporter narrative

FO's leg. During climb out at appx. FL250; I noticed an 'ADV' (Advisory) message on the engine display with a flashing 0.0 oil quantity on the number 1 engine and the oil pressure near the lower end of the green range. I attempted to contact Maintenance and dispatch on XXX.XX but we were getting out of radio range. Made the decision that we would not continue the crossing and requested to level off and get vectors back toward ZZZ. Dispatch called over the Satcom and I advised of the situation. They asked us to bring the plane back to ZZZ. During the descent; the engine continued to operate normally however; the oil pressure continued to trend downward with an occasional low oil pressure message and master caution. When we leveled off at 10;000'; we got the low oil pressure message master warning to shutdown the engine. After the number 1 thrust lever came back to idle; the message cleared so we opted to keep it running at flight idle. Eventually the message returned; driving us to shut down the number 1 engine approaching ZZZZZ intersection. Continued the flight on one engine and landed in ZZZ under max landing weight without further issue.
