2025-01 · NASA ASRS report 2201271
Bonanza 36 instructor and trainee reported a nose gear failure resulted in a gear up landing.
Departing from ZZZ approximately XA:00 local time on the initial climb out we discovered an issue with the nose gear. We got a yellow indication from the nose gear on the landing gear position indicator system. Putting the gear up we heard an audible noise from the front of the aircraft. Realizing that there was an issue we started troubleshooting. In cruise we tried multiple attempts to lower the nose wheel after slowing to a safe airspeed. We then got in contact with maintenance personnel on the ground at ZZZ1 and attempted multiple low passes to verify the position of the landing gear. We followed the checklist and POH to attempt lowering the gear properly. After our attempts were unsuccessful we decided to use the emergency gear extend. Unfortunately the emergency gear extend did not deploy the gear. After verifying that there was issue with the Nose wheel only lowering approximately 50% we made an emergency landing with fire and rescue nearby. The landing was successful and there were no injuries. We [requested priority handling] with ZZZ Approach in the air and informed them of our safe landing on the ground.
