Synopsis

Air carrier Captain reported loss of hydraulic pressure in cruise but the flight was able to continue to destination.

Narrative

Flight XXXX ZZZ1-ZZZ experienced a total loss of the yellow hydraulic system and a total loss of system hydraulic fluid. ECAM actions and QRH procedures performed. Assessed system and status page confirming the loss of nosewheel steering and other various components. Company phone patch made to dispatch and Maintenance Control and decision was made to continue to ZZZ and a super tug would meet the aircraft on the runway and be towed to the gate. Landing distance procedures were calculated and the FO and I agreed we had adequate runway availability in ZZZ. Weather was VMC in ZZZ and runway was dry. Informed ATC and asked them to prepare a runway for us as it would entail a short closure of chosen runway until we were towed clear. ATC assigned us XXR. Minimal impact to airport operations was observed. Informed inflight of the situation and relayed that it was not an emergency situation. I waited to inform the passengers until we started our arrival into ZZZ to minimize interference between the pax and inflight while they were performing their arrival duties. Pax remained calm and the landing was on centerline on XXR and uneventful. Approximately 5-10 minutes later airport ops and a super tug tow team met the aircraft and took control of the aircraft. Engines were then shut down (APU running) and we subsequently towed to the gate. Flight deplaned normally.
