Synopsis

Engine shop lead technician reported noticing several discrepancies with part numbers for engine fan blade annulus fillers while generating shop orders.

Narrative

On Day 0; there were 10 annulus fillers replaced on Aircraft X; Engine Serial Number (ESN) XXXXX per jobcard. Replacement fillers were not available in inventory. Aircraft Y was undergoing and engine change; and fillers were robbed from the engine being removed; ESN XXXXY. When the ESN XXXXY was brought into the shop; the removed fillers from Aircraft X were inside the fan case. I started going through the fillers to get Manufacturer Part Number (MPNs) and serial numbers (S/Ns) so I could generate shop orders for each filler. While reviewing the robbed parts tags attached to each filler and the jobcard; I noticed numerous discrepancies.• Position #1 shows the same S/N as position #24• Position #3 shows the same S/N as position #23• Position #6 had the incorrect S/N; missing a digit required for tracking• Position #7 had an illegible S/N and required researching to find the correct S/N• Position #12 had the incorrect S/N; requiring research to find the correct S/N• Positions #13 and #16 had illegible S/Ns which required research to find the correct S/Ns• Position #26 shows S/N XXXXXXXXXX was removed from the engine; but it was shipped with ESN XXXXYPer email from Engineering; position #26 was specifically mentioned as needing removal; which it apparently was; however the tracking software (Assembly Status Inquiry) shows this part is still installed. This causes concern that; because two fillers show the same S/N on the jobcard as well as a filler that I have on my desk to scrap; we are not tracking time-controlled parts that should be. I was able to generate nine shop orders for the fillers; however the one in my possession can not be scrapped as directed by engineering because it shows in the tracking software that it is still installed on an aircraft.

Frequently asked questions

How do I search flights by aircraft type on FlightFinder?

Pick an aircraft model — Boeing 737, Airbus A320, A380, Boeing 787 Dreamliner and more — enter your origin airport, and FlightFinder shows every route that plane flies from there with live fares.

Which aircraft types can I filter by?

We support Boeing 737/747/757/767/777/787, the full Airbus A220/A319/A320/A321/A330/A340/A350/A380 family, Embraer E170/E175/E190/E195, Bombardier CRJ and Dash 8, and the ATR 42/72 turboprops.

Is FlightFinder free to use?

Search and schedules are free. Pro ($4.99/month, $39/year, or $99 one-time lifetime) unlocks the enriched flight card — on-time stats, CO₂ per passenger, amenities, live gate & weather — plus My Trips with push alerts.

Where does the route data come from?

Live schedules come from Amadeus, AeroDataBox and Travelpayouts. Observed routes (which aircraft actually flew a given city pair) are crowdsourced from adsb.lol ADS-B data under the Open Database License.
