Synopsis

GA pilot reported after landing at 07FA non-towered airport they held in position at the end of the runway prior to back taxiing due to another aircraft landing behind them.

Narrative

Homestead Approach Control set us up for a right downwind visual approach to Runway 5. They told us they were putting us in front of a turbo prop that was also IFR. We cancelled IFR; entered the downwind and made the appropriate calls on the CTAF. While we were on final; a single pilot Aircraft Y called in on base. The turbo prop had to do a 360 behind Aircraft Y. When we got to the end of the runway; we transferred controls and I began to taxi the aircraft back to the ramp. I proceeded into the turn around area. While I was concentrating on taxing; I hear Aircraft Y on short final saying something about us holding down at the end. As I turned around short of the runway; I saw Aircraft Y crossing over the trees. At that point; I stayed in the turn around area short of the runway. At some point my FO said something about holding down there; which I think he said as a response to the other plane. I was getting ready to and should have told Aircraft Y to go around but figured all I could do at that point was hold short of the runway. He proceeded to land; turned around about halfway down the runway; never coming close to us and jet blasted the building next to the runway. We taxied back to the ramp uneventfully. I spoke with the airport manager; Person A; about the incident. He appreciated us staying off the runway and was going to fill out a report; emphasizing the actions of Aircraft Y. I was busy concentrating on turning the airplane around in a tight area avoiding jet blast and didn't realize how close Aircraft Y was and what he was doing. When I realized that he was landing; I held my position short of the runway. I was going to and should have told him to go around; but it appeared to me there wasn't time. I am not sure if he would have and I stayed where I was.

Frequently asked questions

How do I search flights by aircraft type on FlightFinder?

Pick an aircraft model — Boeing 737, Airbus A320, A380, Boeing 787 Dreamliner and more — enter your origin airport, and FlightFinder shows every route that plane flies from there with live fares.

Which aircraft types can I filter by?

We support Boeing 737/747/757/767/777/787, the full Airbus A220/A319/A320/A321/A330/A340/A350/A380 family, Embraer E170/E175/E190/E195, Bombardier CRJ and Dash 8, and the ATR 42/72 turboprops.

Is FlightFinder free to use?

Search and schedules are free. Pro ($4.99/month, $39/year, or $99 one-time lifetime) unlocks the enriched flight card — on-time stats, CO₂ per passenger, amenities, live gate & weather — plus My Trips with push alerts.

Where does the route data come from?

Live schedules come from Amadeus, AeroDataBox and Travelpayouts. Observed routes (which aircraft actually flew a given city pair) are crowdsourced from adsb.lol ADS-B data under the Open Database License.
