Synopsis

A321 Flight Attendants reported an inadvertent escape slide deployment after aircraft returned to gate due to a door issue and maintenance was conducting a door inspection.

Narrative

After door closed and taxing out; pilot noticed a malware on the door 3R. Pilot aborted take off and requested to return to the gate; call for mechanical. Door procedures were performed for arming and disarming as required for safety and security. FA A did made a PA for arming and disarming doors as well as all the call out to them verify the status of the door. I did disarm my door on this order 4R First and then 4L and crossed check and as we the all called made by FA A. All doors were disarmed at the time then mechanic walked in the aircraft.Mechanic was performing a check after pilots reported a malfunction on the doors First was checked for 4R with some objects jammed and after he did a check on door 3R. Door was disabled and fully opened by the mechanic. The mechanic started looking around the door frame and than touched during the inspections a switch and the slide deployed. At that time; I was at door my doors 4R 4L I did not see all the mechanics was doing. Everything was explained to me at a later time.

I was the FA B. After the rejected take off we returned to the gate. The FA A followed procedure and made the announcement to verify and disarm doors and stand by for all call. I followed disarming procedures for both 3R and 3L (looked out windows; verified; and disarmed). The FA A made the all call and each FA answered and verified that each door was verified and disarmed.Mechanic boarded the aircraft and opened the 3R door in the disarmed mode. While he was performing his checks on the door; the slide deployed.
