B767 flight crew reported vibration in the flight control system. Diverted and landed uneventfully.
Smooth takeoff and initial climb hand flown by Captain at roughly alt 10000 feet vibration was noticeable by Captain 250 kts then cleared to multiple intermediate climb altitudes to final altitude FL330 with continuous vibration and ADI flickering without and with Autopilot verified by both First Officer (FO) and relief pilot both control wheels and Captain ADI...Captain transferred control to FO; communication with Dispatch; Maintenance Control; relief pilot; and Flight Attendant. Aircraft had no history Maintenance Control found recent leading edge issues in ZZZZ during research/discussion...decision to [request priority handling] informed Dispatch/Maintenance Control during communication with Divert return to ZZZ with ZZZ1 possible alternate if required. Requested landing data from Dispatch for overweight landing due to nature of [situation]...Relayed information to ATC with priority handling request diverting to ZZZ. Advised flight attendants (lead) with a briefing prepared cabin and advised passengers of precautionary priority handling due to flight control issues and an overweight landing on arrival. Continued with normal and abnormal arrival briefing and appropriate checklists Configured aircraft early for control evaluation and stabilized approach criteria for overweight landing. Fire/Rescue was advised and met aircraft on arrival for post landing inspection prior to gate arrival...Smooth and uneventful landing...Brace call initiated prior to landing with remain seated after landing...normal post landing taxi to gate. Debriefing with chief pilot; flight crew; Maintenance on speaker phone. No injuries or complaints.
