Synopsis

Air carrier Technician reported the locking tab on an elevator was cracked and repair had been attempted with epoxy; but a piece of the tab came loose.

Narrative

during inspection of L/H (left hand) elevator before install of servo; found the locking tab cracked and epoxy build up around the area. the piece was easily removed. there is no log page of this attempted repair or documentation of the damage
