CAPT OF ACR MLG ACFT INADVERTENTLY STRUCK THE ACFT WINGTIP ON A PARKED FUEL TRUCK DURING TAXI TO PARKING.
AFTER LNDG AT DETROIT METROPOLITAN ARPT; WE WERE CLRED TO OUR GATE BY GND CTL IN OUR MLG ACFT. AS WE APCHED THE LEAD-IN AREA FOR GATE; WE NOTICED A FUEL SUPPLIER COMPANY TRUCK PARKED; UNMANNED; TO THE L OF THE LEAD-IN AREA. I (FO) ADVISED THE CAPT THAT THIS WAS TOO TIGHT TO PROCEED. OUR PRIMARY MARSHALLER WITH LIGHTED WHITE WANDS INSTRUCTED THE CAPT TO CONTINUE. A WING WALKER WAS PUT INTO PLACE IN FRONT OF THE L WINGTIP. THE CAPT CONTINUED SLOWLY AT THE PRIMARY MARSHALLER'S DIRECTION. I (FO) DID NOT LIKE THIS SIT AT ALL AND KEPT MY EYES ON BOTH THE PRIMARY MARSHALLER AND BY LEANING ACROSS THE COCKPIT AT THE L WINGTIP WING WALKER. THE WING WALKER GAVE THE EMER STOP CROSS ARM SIGNAL TO THE PRIMARY MARSHALLER WHICH I SAW; AT WHICH TIME I VERY STRONGLY SAID STOP THE ACFT! THE CAPT APPLIED THE BRAKES AND WE CAME TO AN IMMEDIATE STOP. I TOLD THE CAPT LET'S SECURE THE ENGS AND HAVE MAINT TOW US IN; THIS IS TOO CLOSE. THE PRIMARY MARSHALLER AND THE WING WALKER THEN CONFERRED WITH EACH OTHER AND ELECTED TO HAVE US CONTINUE. AGAIN; I DID NOT LIKE THIS. THE CAPT RELEASED THE BRAKES AND THE PRIMARY MARSHALLER GAVE HIM A R TURN SIGNAL. I WAS WATCHING AGAIN; BOTH THE WING WALKER BACK IN PLACE IN FRONT OF THE L WING. HE AGAIN GAVE AN EMER STOP; CROSSED ARM SIGNAL; SIMULTANEOUSLY; I AGAIN SAID STOP THE ACFT! AND AT THE SAME TIME A SHUDDER WAS FELT BY US WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE THE L WING CONTACTING THE FUEL TRUCK.
