Synopsis

General aviation pilot reported a NMAC on final approach. Pilot executed go around and departed the area.

Narrative

After taking off from ZZZ; I flew to AWO and joined left traffic for runway 34 (via east-to-west overflight of the field and a teardrop to join the downwind via a 45 degree turn). I was one of approximately four aircraft in the pattern; all of whom had been communicating via CTAF; and two of whom I had visual contact with in the downwind when I joined. Intending to do a touch-and-go; I made a standard downwind-base-final turn for runway 34. At approximately 100 feet above touchdown; an aircraft took runway 34 and departed. I didn't hear this aircraft make any calls via the CTAF and was unable to reach them via CTAF after querying. I sidestepped to the right; climbed back to and above pattern altitude; and departed the area via a right 360 in an effort to deconflict (and announced the same via AWO CTAF). Given the busy pattern at AWO that day; I was uncomfortable with my proximity to the departing aircraft as well as my nonstandard position with respect to the rest of pattern traffic and other traffic joining the pattern.
