A319 flight crew reported during taxi for departure experiencing HYD GREEN ENGINE 1 PUMP low and RSVR LOW LVL ECAMs resulting in the need for the aircraft to be towed back to the gate.
Narrative
While taxiing out for departure. Green hyd reservoir low ecam occurred. FO followed ecam. Pressure stayed for a little while. While taxiing; green hyd pump low pressure ecam came on. Used parking brake to stop the aircraft. ATC called rescue tug. Got a tow back to the gate.
Second reporter narrative
Taxied out; all indications normal. Completed the BEFORE TAKEOFF CHECKLIST; approximately third in line for takeoff.ECAM for HYD GREEN ENGINE1 PUMP LOW PRESSURE.Executed ECAM. CA notified ground control for a gate return while I contacted ops.A moment later; green system failed and CA executed memory items for LOSS OF BRAKING. I called ops to be towed back to gate. ECAM for HYD GREEN RESEVIOR LOW LVL. Executed ECAM. ECAM HYD page showed GREEN fluid level at bottom of scale.ATC transmitted a PIREP for a puddle of fluid under right main gear.Accomplished after landing flow; then shut down both engines.Recovery crew came out; pinned gear; and towed to gate uneventfully.Excellent assistance from ZZZ Ops and Move Team.
