Narrative
During the climb out of ZZZ; cabin/cockpit temperature was excessively cold. In response; the crew referenced the Non-normal/unannunciated checklist for cabin temperature - cold freighter. Per the checklist; the trim air switch was selected OFF. When the outlet air began to feel a little warmer the QRH directed us to step 24. I incorrectly referenced step 24 from the cabin temperature hot checklist. This step instructed Cabin altitude manual control valve to fully open. As a result the cabin pressure rose and we accomplished the Cabin altitude QRH and descended to 10;000. ATC gave priority handling and we continued to ZZZ1.
Second reporter narrative
During climb out we experienced excessively cold temperatures on the flight deck. At approximately FL270 we began to run the QRH for Cabin Temperature Cold (Freighter)". As the captain read the QRH we turned the TRIM AIR switch off. From there we followed the procedure to "step 24" as the flight deck temperature started to warm up. I continued to fly as the captain executed "step 24" for the QRH "Cabin Temperature Hot (Freighter)". This caused a cabin decompression and a CABIN ALT warning. After recognizing the condition; we executed the QRH procedure. At that time Center gave priority handling as we requested an altitude of 10;000' and explained the situation. We leveled at 10;000' and continue for a safe approach and landing with no further incidents."
