CAPT OF MLG ACR ACFT INADVERTENTLY TRANSGRESSED A RWY DURING TAXI FOR TKOF.
ATIS INFO SPECIFIED 22R AS THE DEP RWY. USUALLY WE ARE CLRED VIA Z; S; 22R. AS THE FO ACKNOWLEDGED OUR TAXI CLRNC; I BRIEFLY WONDERED WHY THE CTLR HAD NOT INCLUDED TXWY S. I DISMISSED IT BECAUSE S IS THE MOST DIRECT AND THE RTE WE ARE ALWAYS CLRED TO 22R. AS WE TAXIED OFF OUR RAMP WE WERE ADVISED THAT INFO DELTA WAS CURRENT. AS WE CROSSED RWY 11/29 THE TWR ASKED US WHERE WE WERE GOING. THE FO REPLIED Z; S; 22R. THE TWR TOLD US THAT WE WERE CLRED TO 22L AND THAT 22R WAS CLOSED. WE WERE RECLRED TO 22L VIA Y. I WONDERED HOW I HAD MISUNDERSTOOD SUCH A SIMPLE CLRNC AT AN ARPT WE FLY INTO SO OFTEN. I BELIEVE THE FOLLOWING ARE ALL RELATED FACTORS: 1) WE HAD A SHORT DISTANCE TO TAXI AND SO WE WERE RUSHING TO COMPLETE THE TAXI AND TKOF CHKLISTS. 2) WE HAD EXPECTED 22R FROM THE ATIS WE HAD COPIED. 3) WE DIDN'T FEEL IT NECESSARY TO GET THE NEW ATIS. 4) THE CAPT DIDN'T CONFIRM THE TAXI RTE WITH THE FO EVEN THOUGH TXWY S WAS NOT INCLUDED. POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS: 1) TAXI/TKOF CHKS MUST BE GIVEN CAREFUL ATTN. STOP IN THE RUNUP AREA; IF NECESSARY; TO COMPLETE THEM. DON'T HURRY. 2) TAKE TIME TO GET THE MOST CURRENT ATIS INFO. 3) GOOD COCKPIT RESOURCE MGMNT WOULD HAVE HELPED. APPARENTLY; THE FO READ BACK THE PROPER TAXI CLRNC. HAD I QUESTIONED HIM ABOUT TXWY S HE MAY HAVE CORRECTED ME. 4) SHOULD A NEW ATIS CONTAIN CRITICAL CHANGES OR INFO; ATC COULD RELATE THOSE CHANGES OR ASK THE CREW TO ACKNOWLEDGE RECEIPT OF THE NEW ATIS INFO. 5) FROM NOW ON I INTEND TO BRIEF ON MY TAXI RTE INTENTIONS.
