UNAUTH PENETRATION OF AIRSPACE. PROX OF TCA.

Narrative

CONDITIONS VFR WITH FLT FOLLOWING RTE RNAV DIRECT ELP DIRECT KDVT LNDG KDVT. LOST CONTACT WITH ZAB APPROX 50 NM E ON FREQ INBOUND. IT SHOULD BE NOTED ZAB XMITTED SOMETHING LIKE COMPUTER BREAKDOWN OR LOST ACFT IDENT; NO N-NUMBERS OR CODE WHICH SUGGESTS A POSSIBLE COMPUTER MALFUNCTION -- XMITTING THIS TWICE PERHAPS MORE; NO REF TO TYPE OF ACFT. DSNDING VFR FROM 16500 FT; 'NO CHANGE IN XPONDER CODE;' 15000 FT AND BELOW ENCOUNTERED SEVERE TURB. MY ONE AND ONLY PAX STARTED TO SHOW AIR SICKNESS AND STARTED TO LOOK FOR A SUITABLE SACK WHICH ENDED UP TO BE MY SHIFT GARMENT BAG. THIS HELPED. HOWEVER; VOMIT WENT EVERYWHERE. INTERRUPTING MY NORMAL PROC TO CONTACT CTR; THIS LAPSE TIME IN COM NORMALLY WOULD READ LIKE: LEVEL AT; DSNDING THROUGH; OR WITH NO COM CLUTTER A SIMPLE REQUEST FOR GS; OR HOW DO YOU READ #2 RADIO; THUS ESTABLISHING CONTACT GRACIOUSLY. THIS SIT PLACED MY POS PENETRATING PHX TCA; USED DVT TWR FREQ REQUESTING CLRNC; WAS GIVEN STRAIGHT IN RWY 25L THEN CHANGED TO ACCEPT RWY 25R. ALL XMISSIONS I WAS CHOKED WITH VOMIT STENCH HAVING PROBS BREATHING OR VOICE EVEN WHILE TAXIING IN FOR REFUELING. CONCERNED ABOUT CLEANING UP MYSELF; PAX AND CABIN; TRYING TO CONVERSE BY PHONE WITH APCH CTL CHOKING FROM THE STENCH MAKING SENSE WAS NOT TOO CLR. FRANKLY; I WAS ANGRY WITH MYSELF ALL RELATED TO THE ABOVE. FOR THE RECORD; EVEN THE USE OF THE CABIN SMOKE DUMP GAVE NO RELIEF. ON THE GND THE STORM WINDOW OPEN MADE IT WORSE IN THE PRESSURIZED ACFT. WHAT I LEARNED: REGARDLESS; FLY THE ACFT; COMMUNICATE; IF NOT; STAY CLR OF TCA UNTIL COM IS ESTABLISHED AND CLRNC GIVEN AND MAKE CERTAIN SICK SACKS ARE WITHIN EASY REACH. NOTE: GLOVE BOX IS NOW THE SPACE USED FOR THE VLF OMEGA/GPS. MANY OF MY FLTS ARE INTO CONGESTED AREAS; 'NEVER A FREAK SIT AS OF JUN/XX/93;' NOR A VIOLATION AIRSPACE OR TCA. THIS EXPERIENCE WILL BE PASSED ON WITH THE HOPE IT WILL HELP MY FELLOW PLTS BENEFIT AND AVOID A SIMILAR SIT.
