PLT EXPERIENCES NOSE GEAR PROB LNDG AT 4I3.
I WAS SHOOTING THE VOR-A APCH INTO KNOX COUNTY WITH A CIRCLE TO LAND RWY 10. WHILE TURNING BASE; I EXTENDED THE LNDG GEAR AND DID A BEFORE LNDG CHKLIST. I HAD GREEN LIGHTS AND THE MECHANICAL NOSE GEAR INDICATOR WAS POINTING TO THE DOWN POS. THE LIGHT AND THE MECHANICAL INDICATOR WERE CHKED A SECOND TIME ON SHORT FINAL. ALL INDICATIONS SHOWED THE GEAR TO BE IN THE DOWN POS. I FLEW OVER THE THRESHOLD AT 85 KTS AND TOUCHED DOWN VERY SMOOTHLY ONTO THE MAIN GEAR. WHEN WAITING FOR THE NOSE TO TOUCH DOWN; I NOTICED THE NOSE WAS GETTING LOWER THAN NORMAL. I STARTED APPLYING BACK PRESSURE ON THE CTL YOKE AND THE PROPS BOTH STRUCK THE GND SIMULTANEOUSLY. THE NOSE THEN CAME BACK UP SLOWLY ABOUT 2-3 FT. I PULLED BOTH MIXTURES BACK AND LOOKED AT THE GEAR INDICATION WHICH WAS STILL GREEN. THEN; I JUST WAITED FOR THE NOSE TO DROP ON THE NOSE CONE WHICH NEVER HAPPENED. IT CAME DOWN ON THE NOSE GEAR THIS TIME. I LET THE AIRPLANE SLOWLY ROLL TO A STOP. I SHUT DOWN EVERYTHING AND TOLD EVERYONE NOT TO TOUCH ANYTHING. I WENT OVER TO THE RAMP TO SEE IF THERE WAS ANY WITNESSES AND THERE WERE NOT ANY BECAUSE OF THE UPGRADE ON RWY 10. YOU CANNOT SEE THE THRESHOLD AREA FROM THE RAMP. I HAD THE MAN THAT WORKS AT THE FBO PULL THE ACFT OFF THE RWY WITH THE TRACTOR. THE ACFT WAS NEVER TOUCHED AFTER THAT. SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION FROM ACN 264538: WHETHER THE NOSE GEAR MALFUNCTIONED HAS NOT YET BEEN DETERMINED.
