ACR X NON ADHERENCE TO ATC INSTRUCTION TO EXIT RWY. PLTDEV.
ACR X APCHING DFW FROM THE E WE WERE KEPT AT 4000 FT UNTIL 11 MI FROM THE RWY SO WE COULD LAND ON THE W COMPLEX AND TFC COULD PASS UNDER US AT 3000 FT FOR THE E COMPLEX. WE WERE ALSO TOLD TO KEEP OUR SPD UP. THIS LEFT US VERY HIGH; FULL SCALE DEFLECTION OF THE GS; AND FAST FOR LNDG ON RWY 18R. THEY WERE PERFORMING 'LAND AND HOLD SHORT' OPS ON RWY 18R AND WE HAD TO HOLD SHORT OF TXWY 31. NATURALLY WE LANDED LONG AND DID NOT REVERSE AGGRESSIVELY BECAUSE THE 'L REVERSE ACCUMULATION LOW' LIGHT HAD BEEN ON FOR THE LAST HR AND I DIDN'T KNOW IF THE BUCKET WOULD COME OUT. THE TWR CTLR IS TALKING NON- STOP AND TOLD US TO TURN OFF AT A TXWY WE CAN'T MAKE WHILE CLRING SOMEONE ELSE TO TKOF ON OUR RWY! WE CLRED NEAR THE END; COULDN'T TALK TO THE TWR SINCE HE WAS TALKING NON-STOP; SO WE PROCEEDED N ON THE PARALLEL TXWY AND SWITCHED TO GND; WHO GOT ALL UPSET BECAUSE WE SWITCHED WITHOUT BEING TOLD BY A TWR CTLR WITH WHOM WE COULDN'T COM. PROBS: HIGH; FAST; APCH TO ACCOMMODATE ATC. LONG LNDG ON ARTIFICIALLY SHORTENED RWY. MECHANICAL PROB WITH REVERSES. UNABLE TO COM WITH TWR SINCE HE TALKS NON- STOP. ALL OF THIS IS DRIVEN NOT BY SAFETY BUT BY THE DESIRE TO ENHANCE CAPACITY AT DFW.
