ACR LTT PLT TAXIED TOO CLOSE TO ANOTHER ACFT AND A BARRICADE.
THE FACTS ARE THAT I TAXIED TOO CLOSE BTWN A CONSTRUCTION ZONE AND A PARKED 737. THE SIT AROSE BY GND CTL CLRING ME TO THE GATE ASSUMING THAT I KNEW OF THIS UNIQUE OBSTRUCTION AND NOT MONITORING MY PROGRESS. CONTRIBUTING FACTORS WERE THE FO'S NEGLECT TO COPY ATIS NOTAMS AS WERE HIS NON FLYING PLT DUTIES. RADIO PROBS WITH THE AIRPLANE PROHIBITED ME FROM MONITORING ATIS AS I USUALLY DO. OTHER FACTORS WERE THAT DUE TO WX WE FLEW 8.9 HRS THAT DAY IN A 12 HR DUTY DAY WITH 7 LEGS. I AM SURE THAT COMPLACENCY ALSO SET IN AS I WAS TO THIS ARPT APPROX 20 TIMES IN THE LAST 30 DAYS WITH THE SAME COPLT DURING THIS ONGOING CONSTRUCTION. I PERSONALLY NEVER FELT IT WAS A HAZARD TO TAXI THROUGH THIS OPENING AS I AM CONSTANTLY CALLED UPON TO TAXI MY AIRPLANE IN CLOSER QUARTERS ON A DAILY BASIS. DURING THIS SIT; WE TAXIED SLOWLY WITH BOTH PLTS WATCHING FOR CLRNC. ON THIS EVENING THE PLANE WOULD BE USED FOR FAA CHK RIDES AND MY COMPANY CHK AIRMAN AND FAA EXAMINER WERE THERE TO OBSERVE ME TAXI IN. THE SIT WAS BROUGHT TO THEIR ATTN BY A RAMP AGENT FOR THE AIRLINE THAT OWNED THE 737; WHO THOUGHT THAT MY ACTIONS WERE RECKLESS. I STILL DON'T BELIEVE MY ACTIONS WERE RECKLESS BUT I DO BELIEVE THAT BETTER PLANNING ON MY PART IN THE FUTURE WILL AVOID A SIT LIKE THIS FROM EVER HAPPENING AGAIN. I CALLED TWR TO ASK IF I VIOLATED ANYTHING AND THEY SAID NOT. THEY ADMITTED THAT I NEVER SHOULD HAVE BEEN CLRED THAT WAY. MY COMPANY SAID I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER AND THEY ARE RIGHT. I JUST WISH THE CTLR WAS WATCHING AND HELPING ME BECAUSE I AM CURRENTLY FACING A SUSPENSION. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATES THAT HIS ACR'S POI WAS NOTIFIED ABOUT THIS INCIDENT AND HAS STATED THAT THERE WILL BE NO ACTION TAKEN. APPARENTLY THE ACI ON THE SPOT SAID 'WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THAT?' TO THE CHK AIRMAN WHILE WATCHING THE RPTR TAXI THROUGH THE CLOSE QUARTERS. EMBARRASSING THE CHIEF PLT TO THE POINT THAT HE THOUGHT THAT HE HAD TO DO SOMETHING. NEITHER THE ACI NOR THE CHIEF PLT MADE ANY MOVE TO HELP THE RPTR TAXI IN. THE RPTR ADMITS THAT HE HADN'T CLOSELY REVIEWED THE ATIS AS HE FLIES THROUGH DSM CONSTANTLY. A LITTLE COMPLACENCY HAD SET IN .
