BLOWN TIRE ON TKOF.
AS WE LIFTED OFF THE RWY WE HEARD THE ACFT TAKING POS (BEHIND US) RPT RUBBER AND METAL DEBRIS ON THE RWY WE HAD JUST DEPARTED. LEFT GEAR DOWN AND LEVELED OFF TO HEAR WHAT IT WAS -- TIRE AND LNDG GEAR DOOR. SUSPECTED IT WAS OURS. TOLD FLT ATTENDANTS WE MAY HAVE A PROB AND THEY CONFIRMED HEARING NOISE AT START OF TKOF ROLL. VECTORED IN HOLDING PATTERN FOR ABOUT 1 HR WHILE WE CONFERRED WITH MAINT; DISPATCH; ETC; BURNED FUEL DOWN TO LNDG WT AND PREPARED THE CABIN FOR A POSSIBLE EVAC. LANDED NORMALLY AT MIA (LONGER RWYS; BETTER EMER FACILITIES) AFTER A LOW PASS TO CHK GEAR (NOTHING ABNORMAL SEEN FROM TWR NOR FROM ANOTHER ACR). TAXIED OFF AND STOPPED WITH FIRE TRUCKS/MAINT OBSERVING -- NO FIRE -- SO WE RECEIVED A TOW TO THE GATE. NO INJURIES BUT SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO MAIN LNDG GEAR; FLAPS AND UNDERSIDE OF WING AREA. COMPANY HAD RPTED DEFECTIVE TIRES ON THIS FLEET. COCKPIT RESOURCE MGMNT TRAINING WORKED WELL. A COMPANY OMC AND CAPT WORKED WITH MAINT/DISPATCH AND CABIN CREW WHILE I (COPLT) FLEW THE AIRPLANE AND MONITORED ATC. FORTUNATELY; WX WAS GOOD AND TFC LIGHT. FELT WE HAD PLENTY OF TIME TO PREPARE; DO PROCS AND MAKE A GOOD DECISION. CAPT WAS A GOOD MGR AND TEAMWORK WAS STRONG. WOULD LIKE TO EMPHASIZE FOR FLT ATTENDANTS TO BE MORE WILLING TO RPT IRREGULARITIES TO COCKPIT -- ALTHOUGH WE WERE BEGINNING THE TKOF SO THERE WAS VERY LITTLE TIME TO DO THIS BEFORE HIGH SPD REGIME MADE IT INAPPROPRIATE.
