2 TRIPS FLOWN IN THE WRONG ACFT. BOTH CREWS MADE THE SAME MISTAKE AS DID THE AGENTS; BAGGAGE HANDLERS AND FUELERS.
I FLEW SHIP #XXY FROM MCO TO LGA. OUR ACARS MESSAGE FOR GATE ASSIGNMENT INDICATED GATE R EVEN THOUGH OUR FLT PLAN INDICATED GATE Q. I PARKED THE ACFT (SHIP #XXY AT GATE R. THE PAX DEPLANED AND I WENT TO THE GATE TO GET OUR PAPERWORK FOR OUR LEG TO PBI. (UNKNOWN TO ME AT THE TIME; SHIP #XYX HAD ORIGINALLY BEEN ASSIGNED GATE R BUT HAD BEEN PARKED AT GATE Q.) OUR PREFLT PREPARATION WAS NORMAL AND WE RECEIVED THE PROPER PAPERWORK FOR OUR FLT (FUEL SLIP; FLT PLAN; WX AND DISPATCH RELEASE.) WHAT WAS NOT CORRECT WAS THE SHIP # ON THE DISPATCH RELEASE -- IT SHOWED SHIP # XYX INSTEAD OF SHIP # XXY. WE GOT A MESSAGE ON OUR ACARS ENRTE TO PBI TO CHK OUR SHIP DATA (AND I HAVE SINCE LEARNED THAT SHIP # XYX RECEIVED THE SAME MESSAGE ENRTE TO MSY.) APPARENTLY WE SHOULD HAVE FLOWN SHIP # XYX TO PBI AND THEY SHOULD HAVE FLOWN SHIP # XXY TO MSY. THE FLT # WAS CURRENT ON OUR FINAL WT AND DATA RPT BUT THE WRONG SHIP # MEANS THAT OUR OPERATING EMPTY WT WAS OFF BY A COUPLE OF HUNDRED LBS. THE ENTIRE INCIDENT COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED HAD I; THE CAPT; PAID MORE ATTN TO THE SHIP # ON OUR PAPERWORK; INSTEAD OF JUST THE FLT NUMBER. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 289057: WHEN ALL THE PAPERWORK FOR FLT WAS RECEIVED IN LGA; THE FLT PLAN FUEL LOAD WAS VERIFIED AGAINST WHAT WAS ACTUALLY ON BOARD THE ACFT; AND THE RTE WAS VERIFIED AGAINST THE PRINTED PDC AND THE RTE RECEIVED FROM CLRNC DELIVERY. THE AWABS WAS CHKED FOR PROPER FUEL AND PAX COUNT. I ABSOLUTELY REMEMBER CHKING THE FLT NUMBER AND DATE ON ALL PAPERWORK.
