PLT OF AN ATX SMA SEL LOST CTL OF THE ACFT DURING LNDG ROLL ON ICY RWY RESULTING IN THE ACFT SLIDING INTO A SNOW BANK. THE ACFT NOSE WHEEL STRUT ARM WAS BROKEN.
MY INTENTIONS WERE TO LAND AT Z13 (AKIACHAK) ARPT. THE RWYS RUN E AND W (RWYS 11-29). I WAS ON A SOUTHERLY HDG AS I CROSSED ABOVE THE RWY VIEWING THE WINDSOCKS. THEY BOTH INDICATED A XWIND FROM THE S. I THEN PROCEEDED TO ENTER A L DOWNWIND FOR RWY 29. I HAD BEEN INTO Z13 EARLIER THAT MORNING; NOTING HOW ICY AND SLICK THE RWY WAS. I ALSO NOTED THAT THE WIND WAS CALM AND THAT I HAD A LOAD OF ABOUT 3000 LBS GROSS WT. AS I TURNED FINAL FOR RWY 29 LATER THAT AFTERNOON WITH A LOAD OF ABOUT 3000 LBS GROSS WT; I TOOK PRECAUTIONS KNOWING HOW SLICK IT WAS EARLIER. AS I CAME OVER THE TREES WITH FULL FLAPS AND STALL WARNING HORN GOING OFF; I SET THE PLANE DOWN WITHIN THE FIRST 75 FT OF THE RWY. I IMMEDIATELY STARTED PUMPING THE BRAKES; BRAKING ACTION WAS NIL. THE PLANE WXVANED INTO THE WIND; NOW SLIDING DOWN THE RWY AT A 75-90 DEG ANGLE. I IMMEDIATELY THOUGHT GAR; BUT I KNEW I HAD TO GET SOMEWHAT PARALLEL TO THE RWY BEFORE A SUCCESSFUL GAR COULD BE ACCOMPLISHED. I MASHED FULL R RUDDER THEN BRAKE... NOTHING SO I TRIED L RUDDER AND BRAKE; HOPING FOR A 90 DEG TURN BACKWARD SO I COULD PULL IT OUT WITH PWR. NOTHING... I HIT THE SNOW BANK AT THE END OF THE RWY; BREAKING THE R STRUT ARM TO THE NOSEWHEEL. CORRECTIVE ACTION -- SAND THE RWY.
