P47 DURING TAXI MAKES SUDDEN STOP TO AVOID ACFT ON TXWY; STRIKES ALL 4 BLADES.
ON SWITCHING FROM APCH CTL TO TWR AT SAT; I REQUESTED A 360 DEG OVERHEAD APCH. THE TWR DENIED THE 360 DEGS AND CLRED ME TO LNDG. I THEN INFORMED THE TWR I WAS UNABLE TO LAND STRAIGHT IN AND REQUESTED A 360 DEG TURN PRIOR TO LNDG. I DIDN'T UNDERSTAND HIS NEXT XMISSION; SO I TOLD HIM I DIDN'T UNDERSTAND WHAT HE WANTED ME TO DO. HE THEN TOLD ME TO DO WHATEVER I NEEDED ON A BASE LEG. I DID A 360 DEG TURN ON A CLOSE IN BASE; AND LANDED NORMALLY. AFTER EXITING THE ACTIVE RWY 12R; TWR TOLD ME TO TAXI TO PARKING THIS FREQ; AND ASKED WHERE I WAS GOING. I TOLD HIM; AND BEGAN TAXIING WBOUND INTO SUN. I SAW 2 OTHER ACFT ON TXWY; A KING AIR; AND A TURBOPROP COMMUTER. THEY WERE BOTH AT THE END OF THE RWY; THE KING AIR DEPARTING AS I TAXIED IN. I WAS 'S' TURNING TO STAY ON TXWY AND SEE AHEAD. AS I WAS EXECUTING ANOTHER S-TURN; I SAW A BEECH BONANZA STOPPED DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF ME ON TXWY. I MADE AN EMER STOP STRIKING ALL 4 BLADES ON TXWY BEFORE I COULD SHUT DOWN ENG. I RPTED TO TWR; AND CLBED OUT TO INSPECT DAMAGE. I RESTARTED AND TAXIED TO PARKING. TWR REQUESTED I CALL THEM. WHEN I DID THEY WERE CONCERNED THAT I DIDN'T ACCEPT A STRAIGHT IN TO LAND. I MENTIONED THE ACFT; REFERRING TO THE 360 DEG OVERHEAD IN WWII MIL TYPE ACFT. THEY WERE UNAWARE OF ITS EXISTENCE. WHEN I ASKED THEM ABOUT THE ACFT STOPPED ON TXWY; I WAS TOLD THEY DIDN'T SEE IT BECAUSE MY ACFT BLOCKED THEIR VIEW. SEVERAL THINGS ADDED UP TO THIS PROB. ACFT STOPPED ON TXWY WAS ON GND FREQ; THEREFORE I NEVER HEARD HIM; OR WAS AWARE OF HIM TAXIING OUT. BOTH OTHER ACFT ON TWR FREQ. LIMITED VISIBILITY IN THIS ACFT AND TAXIING INTO SETTING SUN. CTLR UNFAMILIAR WITH THIS TYPE OF ACFT; ITS LNDG AND TAXI LIMITATIONS. ACFT STOPPED ON NARROW TXWY 50-100 FT SHORT OF 200 FT BY 400 FT CONCRETE RUNUP AREA. THIS BLOCKED TXWY ENTRANCE TO RWY AND EXIT TO RAMP. AT THE TIME I CAME UP BEHIND HIM; THE ACFT AHEAD HAD TAXIED TO RWY POS FOR TKOF AND THE LIGHT ACFT PLT EVIDENTLY HAD HEAD DOWN AND NOT PULLED UP TO RWY ENTRY AREA.
