TKOF ABORTED.

Narrative

REVENUE FLT IN EMB120; FIRST FLT OF THE DAY. PICKED UP ACFT AT HANGAR AND COMPLETED ALL PREFLT; START; AND TAXI CHKS. WHILE TAXIING TO GATE; CONDUCTED BOTH MANUAL AND AUTO-FEATHER CHKS -- ALL NORMAL. AFTER LOADING PAX AND DEPARTING GATE; CONDUCTED AUTO-FEATHER CHK AGAIN -- NORMAL. CLRED 'POS AND HOLD' BEHIND DEPARTING B757. CLRNC TO TKOF RECEIVED AFTER B757 BEGAN DEP TURN. HELD BRAKES; NOTED NP INCREASING TOWARD 100 PERCENT; RELEASED BRAKES; AND CALLED FOR 100 PERCENT TORQUE (WHICH IS USED ON FIRST FLT OF DAY). SHORTLY AFTER TKOF ROLL BEGAN; BOTH PF AND PNF NOTED UNUSUAL SOUND FROM #2 PROP AND INITIATED ABORT. PF NOTED #2 TORQUE AT 125 PERCENT AS PWR LEVERS WERE BEING REDUCED TO IDLE. ACFT CLRED RWY WITHOUT INCIDENT. WITH BOTH PWR LEVERS AT IDLE AND BOTH CONDITION LEVERS AT MINIMUM; #2 NH WAS AT 84 PERCENT AND NP AT 43 PERCENT. ONLY AFTER #2 CONDITION LEVER WAS MOVED TO FEATHER WOULD #2 NH DROP TO 62 PERCENT -- NORMAL IDLE SPD. WE TAXIED BACK TO GATE AND TURNED ACFT OVER TO MAINT. CONVERSATION WITH CHIEF PLT REVEALED THAT MAINT PERSONNEL CONDUCTED TEST RUN OF R ENG. I NOTED THAT WHEN R PROP WAS FEATHERED; THEN UNFEATHERED; IT TOOK APPROX 4 MINS FOR PROP RPM TO RETURN TO NORMAL. MAINT RECORDS SHOWED FOLLOWING WORK PERFORMED: COMPUTER DOWNLOADED AND OVERTORQUE OF 132 PERCENT NOTED. PROP CTL UNIT CHANGED; TORQUE CTL UNIT CHANGED; PROP CHANGED; OVERTORQUE INSPECTION COMPLETED. I DO NOT KNOW THE TIME INTERVAL THE COMPUTER SHOWED WHEN TKOF PWR WAS ADDED AND ABORT INITIATED; BUT THINK IT WAS REASONABLY SHORT. I THOUGHT NP INDICATIONS WERE NORMAL UNTIL PROP BEGAN TO FEATHER.
