ACFT EQUIP PROB -- ACR HAS THE 'R OVERWING SLIDE' EICAS MESSAGE DISPLAYED DURING INITIAL CLBOUT.
AFTER COMPLETING ALL CHKLISTS APPLICABLE AND NO DISCREPANCIES NOTED; I COMMENCED TKOF ROLL. AT APPROX 400 FT; I SAW; TOGETHER WITH THE CAPT A 'R WING SLIDE' ADVISORY ON EICAS ALERT MESSAGE. THE CAPT TOOK CTL OF THE ACFT PLUS ATC COM AND DELEGATED HANDLING THE PROB TO ME. AFTER FINDING NO PROC FOR 'R WING SLIDE' IN QRH; I CONTACTED NEWARK ACR MAINT VIA VHF FOR ASSISTANCE AND ADVICE. IN THE MEANTIME THE CAPT COORDINATED WITH ATC AND FLEW THE ACFT AT LOW ALT APPROX 3000 FT. (A PRUDENT PROC IF 'ENTRY DOOR' LIGHT WOULD BE ILLUMINATED -- WHICH WAS NOT.) MAINT REQUESTED US TO CHK INTEGRITY OF OVERWING EMER EXIT; PRESSURIZATION; AND FOR ANY VISUAL OR AUDIBLE ABNORMALITY IN VICINITY OF R WING ROOT AREA. NO DISCREPANCIES WERE FOUND BY CABIN ATTENDANTS AND PERSONAL INSPECTION BY THE CAPT. IN ADDITION; THERE WAS A 'DEADHEADING' CAPT TOGETHER WITH A FE ABOARD. THEY ALSO VISUALLY AND AUDIBLY CHKED FOR ABNORMALITIES. NONE WERE NOTED. UPON CONFERRING FURTHER WITH MAINT; MAINT RECOMMENDED THAT WE PROCEED TO HOUSTON AND REFERENCED THE MEL. WE BOTH AGREED TO PROCEED TO IAH. FLT WAS UNEVENTFUL WITH NORMAL FUEL BURN. I MADE THE LNDG WHICH WAS SOFT. UPON ROLLOUT; TWR RPTED THAT WE HAD YELLOW OBJECT TRAILING FROM R WING ROOT AREA. THE CAPT THEN ADVISED TWR THAT WE WOULD BE IMMEDIATELY SHUTTING DOWN UPON EXIT OF THE RWY AND TXWY. WE SHUT DOWN AND REQUESTED MAINT AND A TOW TO GATE. UPON DISEMBARKING THE ACFT; I IMMEDIATELY WENT TO THE AREA INVOLVED. I SAW ONLY SLIGHT SCUFF MARKS ALONG THE FUSELAGE CAUSED BY THE SLIDE. THIS LEADS ME TO THINK THAT THE SLIDE DEPLOYED EITHER AT TOUCHDOWN OR VERY LATE IN THE FLT SUCH AS APCH WITH FLAP EXTENSION.
