Synopsis

FLC MAY HAVE COPIED WRONG SID. FLC DID NOT READ BACK CLRNC.

Narrative

WE RECEIVED OUR CLRNC FROM SJC TO SEA FROM SJC CLRNC DELIVERY. AT THE TIME THE CLRNC WAS RECEIVED; THERE WAS A FAIR AMOUNT OF CONFUSION CAUSED BY AN AGENT TRYING TO TALK TO ME ABOUT THE BOARDING AND THE BOARDING PROCESS ITSELF. WHEN THE FO COPIED THE CLRNC I DID NOT HEAR IT READ TO HIM BUT HE COPIED DOWN THE ALTAM 6 DEP. SJC WAS OPERATING OFF RWY 12R WHICH IS NOT THE NORM. WE WOULD NORMALLY EXPECT RWY 30L WITH A LOUPE 9 DEP. THE DAY PREVIOUSLY WE HAD DEPARTED SJC AND HAD BEEN GIVEN THE ALTAM 6 DEP SO SEEING THAT WRITTEN ON THE CLRNC WAS WHAT I EXPECTED. WE BRIEFED THE ALTAM 6 AND DEPARTED. THE ALTAM 6 CALLS FOR A CLB ON RWY HEADING TO INTERCEPT THE OAK 129 DEG RADIAL. AT 4000 FT MSL WE BEGAN A L TURN PER THE DEP PROC. HALFWAY THROUGH THE TURN; BAY DEP TOLD US TO TURN R TO CROSS THE SJC VOR AT 12000 FT AND CONTINUE ON THE DANVILLE 1 DEP. WE BOTH LOOKED AT EACH OTHER AND SAID 'WHAT THE HELL IS HE TALKING ABOUT?' I TOLD BAY THAT WE WERE IN A L TURN ON THE ALTAM. HE TOLD US HE NEEDED A R TURN AND THEN RECLRED US VIA THE DANVILLE 1. HE ASKED IF WE HAD RECEIVED THE ALTAM CLRNC; AND THAT'S WHEN I REALIZED THAT I HAD NOT ACTUALLY HEARD THAT CLRNC. WHEN THE COPLT READ BACK THE CLRNC; IT WAS A SQUAWK READBACK ONLY. WE BOTH FELL BACK ON WHAT WE EXPECTED. I REALLY DON'T KNOW WHICH WE WERE GIVEN. WHAT I LEARNED OR I SHOULD SAY RELEARNED; IS THAT I WILL ALWAYS HAVE 2 SETS OF EARS LISTEN TO THE CLRNC AND ALWAYS READ BACK THE ENTIRE CLRNC WHEN IT IS SOMETHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY.

Frequently asked questions

How do I search flights by aircraft type on FlightFinder?

Pick an aircraft model — Boeing 737, Airbus A320, A380, Boeing 787 Dreamliner and more — enter your origin airport, and FlightFinder shows every route that plane flies from there with live fares.

Which aircraft types can I filter by?

We support Boeing 737/747/757/767/777/787, the full Airbus A220/A319/A320/A321/A330/A340/A350/A380 family, Embraer E170/E175/E190/E195, Bombardier CRJ and Dash 8, and the ATR 42/72 turboprops.

Is FlightFinder free to use?

Search and schedules are free. Pro ($4.99/month, $39/year, or $99 one-time lifetime) unlocks the enriched flight card — on-time stats, CO₂ per passenger, amenities, live gate & weather — plus My Trips with push alerts.

Where does the route data come from?

Live schedules come from Amadeus, AeroDataBox and Travelpayouts. Observed routes (which aircraft actually flew a given city pair) are crowdsourced from adsb.lol ADS-B data under the Open Database License.
