AN AIR AMBULANCE FLC INADVERTENTLY FLEW INTO MCO CLASS B AIRSPACE SHORTLY AFTER DEP FROM GIF. THE FLC WAS ADVISED OF THE UNAUTH AIRSPACE PENETRATION BY THE APCH CTLR; WHEN THEY PICKED UP THEIR IFR CLRNC.
WE (A 2 PLT CREW) DEPARTED GIF UNDER VMC. AS WE CLBED OUT UNDER VFR WE REQUESTED OUR IFR FLT PLAN FROM TPA APCH ON THE FREQ LISTED ON THE APCH PLATE. WE WERE HANDED TO ZMA; THEN TO ORL APCH; THEN TO ANOTHER ORLANDO APCH BEFORE OUR IFR FLT PLAN WAS FOUND AND ISSUED. DURING THIS TIME WE WERE ALSO COMPLETING REQUIRED CHKLISTS; LOOKING FOR OTHER VFR TFC; TRYING TO MAINTAIN VFR; AND AVOIDING AN AREA OF LIGHT TO MODERATE RAINSHOWERS TO OUR W AND NW. I WAS THE PF AND WAS FLYING A VECTOR GIVEN TO ME BY THE PNF. IT WAS A NE HDG. WE THEN INADVERTENTLY ENTERED ORLANDO'S CLASS B AIRSPACE WITHOUT A CLRNC TO DO SO. WE PICKED UP OUR IFR FLT PLAN AND THE FLT CONTINUED WITHOUT INCIDENT. THE PROB PRIMARILY OCCURRED BECAUSE THE PNF MEANT TO SAY FLY NW; BUT MISTAKENLY SAID NE. CONTRIBUTING FACTORS INCLUDE: INADEQUATE PRETKOF BRIEFING ON DEP PROC AND SPECIFICALLY HOW TO AVOID ORLANDO'S CLASS B AIRSPACE; LACK OF DOUBLE- CHKING THE HDG GIVEN TO ME BY THE PNF; BEING SWITCHED TO 4 DIFFERENT FREQS BEFORE OUR IFR FLT PLAN WAS FOUND; FREQ CONGESTION; AND PLT FATIGUE. IT WAS A LACK OF SITUATIONAL AWARENESS WHEN WORKLOAD WAS AT ITS HIGHEST. ORL APCH ADVISED US THAT WE WERE IN THEIR AIRSPACE WITHOUT A CLRNC RIGHT AFTER OUR IFR CLRNC WAS ISSUED. FATIGUE WAS A FACTOR DUE TO EARLY WAKEUP FOR A REPOSITIONING FLT PRIOR TO THIS FLT 2 1/2 HRS AWAY IN THE CENTRAL TIME ZONE.
