CORP SMA LANDS AT NON TWR ARPT AND SIGHTS ACFT OPPOSITE DIRECTION SLOWING TO STOP.
ON A FLT FROM SMF TO O51; VFR AT 1500 FT MSL ON RADAR FLT FOLLOWING WITH SAC APCH; I WAS TERMINATED FROM RADAR TO ADVISORY FREQ WHEN I CALLED THE ARPT IN SIGHT. RADAR CTLR HAD RPTED NO OBSERVED TFC BTWN ME AND THE ARPT. I ANNOUNCED MY POS OF 5 MI S AND INTENDED TO CROSS OVERHEAD AND ENTER A L DOWNWIND FOR RWY 15. I SLOWED TO BELOW FLAP EXTENSION SPD AND ANNOUNCED OVERHEAD THE DEP END OF RWY 15 AT 1500 FT PROCEEDING TO ENTER ON THE L DOWNWIND FOR RWY 15 AS THE WIND FAVORED RWY 15 ALSO THE PREFERRED RWY. DURING THIS TIME I HEARD 3 OR 4 ATTEMPTS TO XMIT BUT ALL I HEARD WAS CARRIER WAVE. I THOUGHT SOMEONE MAY BE IN THE AIR SO KEPT UP EXTRA SCANNING FOR OTHER TFC; AND NOTICED THE WINDSOCK FAVORED RWY 15 ON THE OTHER WINDSOCK AND NO ONE WAS ON THE RWY. I THEN ANNOUNCED ON L DOWNWIND FOR RWY 15. I FURTHER CONFIGURED WITH GEAR DOWN AND ANNOUNCED TURNING L BASE RWY 15 AND STILL OBSERVED THE RWY WAS CLR OF TFC OR VEHICLES. I TURNED FINAL; PUT DOWN FULL FLAPS; ANNOUNCED BEING ON FINAL (WITH ALL LIGHTS ON). BY THIS TIME I WAS CONCENTRATING ON SHORT FINAL (FINAL CHK) AND THE LNDG. I COMPLETED THE LNDG AND ON ROLLOUT WHEN THE NOSE WAS LOWERED I OBSERVED AN ACFT WEAVING DOWN THE RWY AT THE FAR END APCHING ME. THE ACFT SLOWED AND WENT TO THE R SIDE OF THE RWY AND STOPPED. I ALSO MOVED TO THE R SIDE AND CAME TO A STOP. THE OTHER ACFT MOVED OFF THE RWY AND ONTO THE GRASS. I PROCEEDED TO TAXI IN AND SHUT DOWN. I DIDN'T GET CLOSE ENOUGH TO GET THE OTHER ACFT TAIL NUMBER. I GUESS 2 LESSONS WERE LEARNED: 1) NEVER OPERATE AN ACFT IN OR AROUND AN UNCTLED ARPT UNLESS EVERYONE IS USING THE RADIOS TO GIVE THEIR INTENTIONS. 2) DON'T OPERATE AT UNCTLED ARPTS.
