Narrative

LOCATION: 3 DME NE EWR. ON TKOF FROM EWR I MOST LIKELY SET OFF THE NOISE MONITORS. 4 NM NE OF EWR DEPARTING RWY 4; PARTIALLY ACCIDENTALLY; PARTIALLY INTENTIONAL. THE TKOF ROLL WAS VERY LONG; ROTATE CALLED WITH 2000 FT REMAINING AND ACFT SEEMED NOSE HVY. WHEN ABOVE V2 AND 20 KTS (AROUND 500 FT) I STARTED TURN TO R; BUT IMMEDIATELY GOT A SPD LOW SO I ROLLED WINGS LEVEL. I WENT BACK TO WINGS LEVEL AND AT 800 FT CALLED FLAPS UP CLB PWR. WAITING NOW FOR 0/RETURN SPD TO GO OVER 15 DEG ANGLE OF BANK WE WERE AT 1500 FT FOR 2500 FT LEVEL OFF. I HIT SPD SELECT AND OBSERVED ALPHA SPD IN THE FMA; I AGAIN ROLLED WINGS LEVEL TO FIGURE WHAT AS UP SINCE 250 KTS WAS SET IN SPD SELECT WINDOW AND 246 KTS WAS M/M. THESE DISTRACTIONS KEPT ME FROM ROLLING INTO THE TURN. JUST AFTER 4 DME I STARTED TURN TO 290 DEGS; BUT I NOTICED I WAS ONLY AT ABOUT A 55 DEG HDG. DEP SAID NOTHING; BUT EVEN WITH THE REAL STRONG WIND WE HAD OUT OF THE NW I MOST LIKELY TRIPPED THE NOISE SENSORS. I DIDN'T ATTACH THE IMMEDIACY TO THE NOISE ABATEMENT OFF RWY 4 THAT THERE WAS OFF RWY 22 SINCE THE COMPANY PAGES DID NOT GIVE THE EMPHASIS OF TURN IMMEDIATELY; RATHER IT SAID AS SOON AS PRACTICAL; BUT LOOKING AT THE PAGE LATER ON I SAW THE NOISE MONITOR ON THE NE DEP AND FEEL I MAY HAVE TRIPPED IT. SORRY; NEXT TIME I'LL GIVE MORE FORETHOUGHT TO LEAVING FLAPS OUT ABOVE 800 FT IF NEED BE.
