DEP CTL INTERVENED TO ADVISE FLC OF AN MD80 THAT THEY WERE 5 MI OFF TRACK. AFTER REVIEW OF THEIR VOR INDICATIONS THEY FOUND THE #2 TO BE IN ERROR. FLT ATTENDANT CABIN CHK REVEALED 2 ELECTRONIC GAMES BEING PLAYED THAT RESULTED IN NO MORE NAVIGATIONAL PROBS AFTER THEY WERE TURNED OFF!
DURING PEBLE 2 DEP FROM SAN DIEGO ON AN IOE FLT; WE HAD JUST CROSSED THE OCEANSIDE (OCN) 170 DEG RADIAL AND TURNED R TO A HDG OF 305 DEGS TO INTERCEPT THE MISSION BAY (MZB) 293 DEG RADIAL OUTBOUND. AS THE FO; I WAS THE PF AND NOTICED THAT THE MZB BEARING WAS TO MY 4-5 O'CLOCK POS AND HAD GOOD DME OFF OF MZB. ONCE ON THE INTERCEPT HEADING; THE CAPT TUNED IN SANTA CATALINA (SXC) TO GET US PREPARED TO TRANSITION FROM THE MZB 293 DEG RADIAL TO INTERCEPT SXC 097 DEG RADIAL INBOUND. WE WERE FLYING OFF OF THE #2 DIGITAL FLT GUIDANCE SYS (DFGS) AND HAD THE VOR 'ARMED' TO INTERCEPT THE MZB 293 DEG RADIAL. I WATCHED THE CAPT TUNE IN SXC AND WHEN I LOOKED TO SEE HOW WE WERE COMING WITH INTERCEPTING THE MZB 293 DEG RADIAL; MY CDI STILL SHOWED FULL DEFLECTION AHEAD OF ME; BUT THE MZB BEARING HAD SWUNG AHEAD TO A 2 O'CLOCK POS AND WE STILL HAD GOOD DME. I QUERIED THE CAPT WHO ALSO NOTICED WE WERE APCHING THE SXC 097 DEG RADIAL. SOCAL DEP GAVE US A 280 DEG VECTOR AT THAT TIME AND SAID WE HAD FLOWN 5 MI E OF COURSE. AFTER GETTING ON 280 DEG HDG; SOCAL CLRED US DIRECT LAX. WE BOTH TUNED-IDENTED 113.6 AND CAME R TO APPROX 360 DEG HDG. THE AUTOPLT APPEARED TO BE TRACKING DIRECT TO THE VOR AND THEN ROLLED TO 30 DEGS R BANK TO START A TURN. I IMMEDIATELY HIT HEADING HOLD AND NOTICED AGAIN THAT MY BEARING POINTER HAD SWUNG TO ABOUT A 2 O'CLOCK POS AND SINCE THE AUTOPLT WAS FLYING OFF MY NAVAIDS; WAS FOLLOWING IT. WE SUBSEQUENTLY SWITCHED TO THE CAPT'S DFGS AND BEGAN TO INVESTIGATE OTHER VOR SIGNALS ON MY SIDE. THE CAPT HAD FLT ATTENDANTS SEARCH CABIN FOR ANY ELECTRONIC EQUIP BEING USED. A COUPLE OF GAME BOYS WAS ALL SHE FOUND OPERATING AT THE TIME. THE #2 VOR APPEARED TO WORK NORMAL WITH CORRECT AZIMUTH-2 DME FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE FLT.
