C182 JUMP ACFT PLT COMPLIES WITH PROCS BUT SIGHTS TWIN COMMUTER FLY BENEATH HIM AFTER JUMPERS ARE DROPPED. ATC COORD WITH JUMP ACFT.
I WAS FLYING A 182 CESSNA FOR SKYDIVING COMPANY ON DEC/XX/96; AT 11500 FT MSL AND IN CONTACT WITH DFW APCH CTL CTR. THE CTLR ADVISED THAT I MAKE A 1 MIN CALL PRIOR TO LETTING PARACHUTE JUMPERS OUT. I MADE A 1 MIN CALL BEFORE LETTING PARACHUTE JUMPERS OUT AND A CALL OF JUMPERS AWAY AFTER THEY JUMPED. I SAW A TWIN TURBOPROP COMMUTER FLY UNDERNEATH. LATER I HEARD CONVERSATIONS ON THE APCH FREQ THAT THE JUMPERS FLEW BY THE AIRPLANE FAIRLY CLOSE. THERE WAS NO ADVISORY OF TFC IN THE AREA. THE CTLR STATED THAT IN THE FUTURE I NEEDED TO MAKE A 1 MIN CALL PRIOR TO JUMPERS AWAY. I TOLD HIM THAT I DID MAKE A 1 MIN CALL AND ASKED IF IT WOULD HELP OUT IF I MADE A 2 MIN CALL PRIOR TO LETTING JUMPERS OUT. HE STATED THAT THAT WOULD PROBABLY BE BETTER. APPARENTLY WHEN I MADE THE 1 MIN CALL THE CTLR WAS TALKING ON ANOTHER FREQ OR MY XMISSION WAS STEPPED ON; BECAUSE HE HAD BEEN VECTORING TFC AROUND WHEN HE KNEW WE WERE IN THE JUMP ZONE AREA LETTING PARACHUTERS OUT. PART OF THE PROB (THIS HAS HAPPENED A COUPLE OF TIMES) IS THAT THE NEW AIRWAY FOR APCH TO DFW GOES DIRECTLY OVER THE JUMP ZONE. MOST CTLRS TRY TO VECTOR TFC AROUND WHEN THEY KNOW THERE ARE JUMP PLANES IN THE AREA. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATES THERE HAS BEEN NO FOLLOW UP THAT HE KNOWS OF. THERE HAS BEEN SOME DISCUSSION OF THE PROB AND THE CURRENT PROC IS TO GIVE A 1 HR NOTICE PRIOR TO THE SKYDIVING ACTIVITY AND APCH WILL BEGIN TO VECTOR ACFT 5 DEG W TO AVOID THE JUMPERS. RPTR STATES THAT WHEN AT 4000 FT WITH JUMPERS APCH SENDS ACFT OVER THE TOP. THE PROB IS WHEN HE IS UP AT HIGHER ALTS AND THERE IS CONFLICTING TFC.
