AN ACFT CARRYING 107 PAX MISSES A TURN ON THE STAR ARR INTO MEM. PNF AND ATC CATCH THE TRACK DEV AT THE SAME TIME AND MAKE PROPER CORRECTIONS.
END OF A LONG DAY; COPLT MISSED MANDATORY TURN TO 355 DEG HDG AT OLIVV INTXN. I ASSUMED HE WAS GOING TO TURN. WE REALIZED (JUST PRIOR TO THE TURN) THAT WE NEEDED TO ACCOMPLISH THE APCH CHKLIST. AS I STARTED TO READ THE CHKLIST; I LOOKED AT OUR POS AND REALIZED WE WERE 1 MI PAST OUR TURN POINT. I TOLD THE COPLT TO TURN AND AT THIS POINT THE APCH CTLR TOLD US TO TURN TO 050 DEGS; WHICH WE DID. CTLR SAID WE HAD TFC 2 MI OFF OUR L. IN HINDSIGHT; I REALIZE ONE OF US SHOULD HAVE VERBALIZED THAT WE NEEDED TO TURN AT THE INTXN; AND IF THE PF DOESN'T BRIEF THE MANDATORY ITEMS ON A STAR (OR SID; OR APCH) THE PNF SHOULD POINT THESE ITEMS OUT. BECAUSE THE PF WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL; I ASSUMED HE KNEW HE HAD TO TURN AND THEREFORE DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING. THEN WHEN I WAS DISTR; WE FLEW PAST THE TURN POINT. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 359736: I WAS FAMILIAR WITH THE APCH BUT HAD OVERLOOKED THE TURN TO HDG 355 DEGS AT THE MEM 123 DEG RADIAL; 8 DME FIX. WE WERE COMPLETING THE LAST ITEMS OF THE APCH CHKLIST AT 10 DME. THE CAPT REALIZED I MISSED THE TURN AND INITIATED IT AT APPROX 7 DME. THEN APCH CTL GAVE US AN IMMEDIATE TURN TO 050 DEGS AND THEN R BACK TO 355 DEGS. THE TARGET WAS ON TCASII BUT NEVER TOUCHED THE 2 MI RING. THERE WAS NEVER A TCASII ALERT OR ADVISORY. REMAINDER OF FLT NORMAL.
